Wynne Evans seen for the first time since apologising for vile comment about Strictly partner Janette Manrara

STRICTLY Come Dancing’s Wynne Evans has been seen for the first time after apologising for his vile sexual comment about Janette Manrara.

The opera singer flashed a wry smile as he stepped out of the Blythswood Hotel in Glasgow, amid claims he is just about “hanging on” to his BBC career.

The exact moment Wynne made his crude remark to the former Strictly pro was captured on-camera

Wynne, 52, wrapped up against the Scottish chill in a black puffer jacket and blue jeans, slinging a rucksack over his shoulder.

He stopped to sign autographs for fans waiting outside the venue, before looking serious as he headed away.

The exact moment the BBC Radio Wales anchor made the distasteful comment towards the mum of one, who is a former Strictly Come Dancing professional, has now come to light.

He let slip the shock remark at the start of the Strictly live tour shows before pulling out of the Glasgow performance, citing an ankle injury.

In a new image, Wynne, 52, can be seen giving Janette, 41 – who was a former BBC One show professional until 2021 – a side eye before bursting into a fit of giggles.

It came at a photocall to launch the Strictly live tour, the Go Compare singer reportedly pulled a suggestive face at actor Jamie Borthwick as Janette moved between them — which is when he allegedly made the joke.

He has since issued an apology and told The Mail on Sunday: “My language was inappropriate and unacceptable, for which I sincerely apologise.”

BBC and Strictly Live producers said: “We have made it clear to Wynne we do not tolerate such behaviour on tour.”

Janette’s spokeswoman said she had been “unaware of this comment.”

Wynne was then spotted brushing off the scandal as he was seen singing on stage – despite being unable to dance.

Dad of two Wynne is sadly no stranger to a TV scandal.

Wynne previously came under fire in last year’s Strictly series when he was seen groping his dance partner Katya Jones, but they dismissed it as a joke.

He then told how he had been left “heartbroken” over the backlash, which came when he was seen with his hand around professional partner Katya‘s waist.

She was also seen refusing to high-five the singer – sparking rumours of a fall-out.

‘Grope’

Wynne encountered a backlash after his Strictly pro partner Katya was filmed removing his hand from her waist.

Fans insisted she looked uncomfortable as she moved it away – but Katya later insisted there was no problem.

In joke

They then sparked further fury, when she was seen refusing to high-five the Opera singer.

The duo were quick to issue a video apology and insisted it was all an innocent “inside joke”.

Crude joke

Wynne came under fire for allegedly telling a “crude” joke to one of the show’s make-up artists.

Insiders claim the opera star made a joke that the folds of his double chin “looked like a vagina”.

A source said: “It was a bit of a vulgar dad joke.”

Vile comment

Wynne was recorded suggesting a three-way sex session with presenter Janette Manrara, using the term “spit roast”.

His remark came at a photocall to launch the Strictly live tour, which pro Janette, 41, is hosting.

He reportedly pulled a suggestive face at actor Jamie Borthwick as Janette moved between them — which is when Evans allegedly made the joke.

Wynne has apologised saying: “My language was inappropriate and unacceptable, for which I sincerely apologise.”

Despite fans demanding the pair clarify exactly what “the joke” was, the pair did not elaborate further.

He was then accused of making another distasteful remark towards a make-up artist on the long-running reality show.

MORE DRAMA

Yet Wynne’s antics weren’t the only issues the Strictly crew had to deal with in Glasgow.

On Friday, show judge Craig Revel Horwood told how the show could not continue at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on the night, due to extreme weather conditions.

It came as Storm Eowyn proceeded to batter the UK with bad weather.

Taking to his Instagram Stories on Friday, judge Craig announced in the early hours of this morning that the gig would take place today instead.

At the time, he wrote: “UPDATE. Sadly, Due to the red weather warning in place tomorrow, the Friday evening performance of Strictly Come Dancing The Live Tour will be rescheduled to Sunday evening, 26 January.

“Doors will open at 17.30 and the performance will start at 18.30.

“Original tickets remain valid for this show. If guests are unable to attend, they should contact their point of purchase for a refund.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”

A spokesperson for the show added in a further statement: “Due to the red weather warning in place tomorrow, the Friday evening performance of Strictly Come Dancing The Live Tour will be rescheduled to Sunday evening, 26 January.”
