Two multibillionaires are feuding, and it seems that things are only just getting started. Merely months after Trump was reelected to the office of the President, one of the biggest supporters of the returning Commander-in-Chief, Elon Musk, and the man himself have had a public falling out. This has resulted in some tit-for-tat threats issued on X and Truth Social, but what does Elon Musk stand to lose in the fight?
Musk’s bombshell revelation that Donald Trump was on the Epstein List has caused many to speculate how the latter is going to address such an accusation. There have already been calls from the President to have certain subsidies and contracts taken away from Musk, which has only caused more retaliation from the tech billionaire.
Donald Trump may file a defamation suit against Elon Musk

According to RadarOnline.com, there is a lot that is in store for the feud that has now started between the X and Truth Social owners, with Trump possibly looking to lob a defamation suit at Elon Musk for claims that the latter has made on his social media account. The tech mogul linked The Apprentice host with Jeffrey Epstein on Thursday, calling for impeachment.
Now, Donald Trump is being encouraged by his associates in his close circle to seize SpaceX assets, right on the heels of the billionaire’s threat to pull SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft from future government missions to the International Space Station, which was then quickly walked back.
This was particularly important, given the fact that Musk’s Dragon spacecraft is crucial for delivering astronauts and supplies to the ISS.
The main contention comes in the form of Musk’s opposition to Trump’s ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’, which the Tesla CEO is heavily against. The bill includes a few cuts to key sectors that are important for Musk’s many companies, but it seems that, for the foreseeable future, this non-alignment of interests is here to stay.
No matter how angry Trump is, it would be difficult to prove defamation based on Elon Musk’s statements

According to attorney Kieth B. Johnson, the statements that were made by Elon Musk on his X account need to be demonstrably false and filled with malice for Trump to have any standing to be labelled a defamation lawsuit. However, that is not likely to be the case.
Musk and Trump have respectively been posting on their social media platforms, taking potshots at each other. While nothing concrete has happened yet (apart from Musk’s exit from DOGE), citizens of the United States are wondering how the coming days are going to look.
The feud has caused a lot of hilarious content to be shared on the Internet, given that Musk and Trump’s combined effort was a big push for the Republican Party, or so the Tesla CEO believes.
It remains to be seen if the President of the United States and the CEO of SpaceX can find common ground, or if Musk is going to follow through on his idea of starting a centrist party in the United States, and formally cut all ties with Donald Trump.
