As one of the most popular anime, One Piece is known for its many iconic scenes. This is possibly why the fervor around it remains the same even after more than a thousand episodes. The show is currently taking a breather.

However, Eiichiro Oda seems to have no problem continuing the manga with chapter 1140 set to release in a few days. As such, fans can expect to witness more such magic in the manga soon.
However, for the anime series, one particular sequence remains the unparalleled ruler of iconic moments. In fact, that scene is so powerful that it still seems to have the entire One Piece fandom in a chokehold.
One Piece’s one of the most iconic scenes defines aura
As stated above, One Piece has been known for its iconic moments through the years. Honestly, that is to be expected from one of the longest-running shonen anime of all time. Moreover, the series still keeps attracting new fans every day.
Regardless, if anybody ever questions why someone would give this show a go, a scene from episode 1088 might be enough to provide an answer.

One Piece Episode 1088 delved into Rayleigh, Hancock, Shakuyaku, and the rest of the Kuja Pirates recalling them defeating Blackbeard and his cronies and the Marines.
In the flashback, Boa Hancock could be seen being apprehended by the Blackbeard pirates. While she tried to negotiate peace with them in the wake of their trying to take over Amazon Lily, they grew more and more suspicious of her.
In the end, an undeterred Blackbeard tries to kill Boa Hancock by choking her to death. This is exactly when Dark King Rayleigh enters the scene in the most iconic way possible.
He apologizes to Boa Hancock for being late, and then goes on to call Blackbeard “White Beard’s little apprentice”. Not only that, but he piles on the disrespect further by stating,
I know it’s childish, but I don’t like you.
What follows is nothing but perfection with Rayleigh’s Supreme King Haki flashing red and forcing Blackbeard to submission. All while most of the notorious pirate’s cronies lay unconscious around them.
Moreover, he then also oversees the peace deal between Boa Hancock, the Kuja Pirates, and the Blackbeard Pirates. After which the Blackbeards flee the scene. As such, it is no wonder that the moment reigns supreme in the fans’ hearts.
Fans are still in awe of Dark King Rayleigh’s entrance in One Piece episode 1088 after over a year
Although it aired in 2023, this One Piece episode still has the fans in a massive chokehold. Interestingly, @onepiecemugiwara743 recently posted an edit of the scene with Zhao Lei’s live performance of Time of Our Life. Now this not only triggered the fans’ memories but also made them even more appreciative of the scene.
While user tha_.na_tos commented,
“Calling a yonko apprentice [skull, crown, and dark moon emoji] only Rayleigh can do”,
user starshadowwgt noted,
“Rayleigh was so goated even at that time that he was able to scare an emperor by mere haki. Imagine his real power in prime”.

User zahirhussainnn also pointed out that,
“Because Blackbeard has seen Rayleigh in his prime when they fought Roger Pirates”.
Meanwhile, user donflwmee stated,
“Yeah now he know what the meaning of king is”.
In any case, the fandom seems invigorated after witnessing the magnificent edit. If anything, this possibly has hyped them up even more while they wait for the One Piece anime to resume in March.
Moreover, this seems to have also given them fuel to wait for the live-action series to make a comeback either later this year or in 2026 as per Screen Rant.
One Piece anime is streaming on Crunchyroll, while the One Piece live-action series is available on Netflix.
