Feel The Vibe hitmaker Errol Reid showed off his smooth vocals as he took to the street in Brixton, donning a black top, leather jacket and jeans.

He oozed cool vibes with a pair of sunglasses perched on his head in his faultless London performance.

London-based DJ AG Online – who has a huge TikTok and social media presence – wrote of Errol in his caption: “Pulls up and performs the classic Searching,” before one fan gushed: “So much nostalgia.”

Another posted: “Big track oldskool business,” as a third mused: “This is song is bringing back memories.”

A loyal fan then put: “Memories! Voice still as fresh as it was back then.”

DJ AG Online also recently delighted fans as he brought back one half of an iconic garage duo to make a cameo in one of his videos.

Neutrino, one half of Oxide Neutrino, joined the DJ as they blasted through garage hits for a TikTok live stream.

Meanwhile, Errol released the track as part of band China Black back in 1992.

His bandmate Simon Fung penned and produced the song, with Errol’s signature vocals making it shine.

It stayed in the reggae chart for 12 weeks at number one, and even reached number five in the RnB chart.

Yet after their record label went bankrupt, it was unable to chart in the main UK Single’s list.

The music was also used for cosmetics and beauty brand L’Oreal’s shampoo commercial.

After releasing further tracks including stars, the band performed with stars including Dina Carroll and Jamiroquai.

Yet a legal dispute with the American side of their record company in 1998 led to their split.

POST CHINA BLACK

Errol went on to write and perform on a number of dance music and house music projects.

He has juggled his own tracks with touring with Tom Jones and setting up his own production company.

On Instagram, he describes his sound as “soulful reggae music” and jokes he has been: “Searching since the 90s.”

Errol them promises fans: “New music and new shows coming in 2025.”

Talking about his post-band career Errol, who previously worked for Brent Council, told the Big Happy City blog: “China Black split in 1999 and I got a phone call asking if I’d be a backing singer for Tom Jones and so I started on a couple of years of decadence – pure decadence.

“I ended up yearning for fish and chips or mashed potatoes with gravy and sausages – I missed the basics.

“I toured with Robyn Gibb for 10 years or so.

“I wrote a song “called ‘Feel The Vibe’ with a Swedish guy called Axel Hedfors, which became a big club hit for Ministry of Sound.”

Talking of his rocketing fame in the early stages of his career, he explained: “Once people cottoned on that there was a pop star at Brent Council there would be people waiting outside.

“I’d get calls from reception saying there was someone there to meet me and it turned out they just wanted an autograph.

“My younger colleagues thought it was cool but the older ones said it wasn’t really professional.”
