All fire and no smoke is one way to describe The Beginning After the End anime. The first run itself was nothing short of contentious and controversial. But on the whole, it was disappointing to most fans, including readers.
To add insult to the injury, the animators continued with the run. Pretty disappointing, isn’t it? That is not it, especially with how the makers are approaching the series, especially with the latest announcement.
In other words, the series is getting a Second Season. Yes, you heard that right! The anime is getting a second season, but does it truly deserve a second chance? Is it all doom and gloom for TurtleMe’s series? Let’s find out!
The Beginning After the End preps for Season 2

In October 2024, The Beginning After the End anime was announced. As fans, we were all looking forward to it mainly because the manhwa was a raging success. The anime adaptation had everyone gassed up for the most part.
While most fans were excited, others remained skeptical, and that’s valid. Studio A-Cat’s rendition wasn’t something they were happy about. The anime did disappoint, especially with the first few episodes, but it didn’t end there.
It was a major nosedive in more ways than one. The animation was shoddy, or should we say, mid? The storyline and characters were misrepresented, and Tessia is one such example. For fans, however, the worst was yet to come.

Recently, Crunchyroll confirmed the production of Season 2 of the anime. It is scheduled to premiere in 2026, as confirmed by AnimeCorner. TurtleMe even went so far as to express his excitement for the upcoming season. He said:
I’m excited for viewers to see more of Arthur’s journey on screen with Season 2! It’s been an eye-opening experience being part of such a large endeavor with Crunchyroll, Tapas, and A-CAT. Striving for growth has been a major focus for us, and I hope to see the hard work put into the next season bear fruit. Stay tuned!
Readers, however, aren’t on the same page. The first season was, after all, a massive letdown. It shattered hopes for many fans who were looking forward to a faithful adaptation. But does it truly deserve another shot?
Does TurtleMe’s series deserve a second chance?

To witness a masterstroke such as TurtleMe’s series end up in shambles is painful. For readers, the latest update is like twisting a knife. They do not deserve this, and neither does the author. But that is not it.
The second season’s visuals look as lackluster as the previous season. There’s absolutely nothing appealing about this one. The fact that it’s the same studio adds to the doom and gloom. This is after fans’ petition to cancel the series.
Their demands and frustrations may seem too dramatic, but they make sense. The series is completely divorced from the source material. The studio botched the designs and fight scenes? The sloppiness would make anyone cry.

From character designs to scenes to pacing, there is nothing redeemable about this series. It is disheartening to most readers and fans who awaited this anime. The studio rained on the manhwa’s parade in every sense.
Does it deserve a second chance? Not, especially after the massive failures we witnessed. The fans’ petition proves why they shouldn’t mess up their favorite series. The second season would add to the domino effect, and we have our fingers crossed for this one!
The Beginning After the End is currently available for streaming on Crunchyroll. The manhwa is currently available for reading on Tapas.
