‘The Apothecary Diaries’ Is Perfect for Fans Missing Gojo

The love, joy, and sometimes heartbreak you experience with fictional characters transcend the sensibilities of human emotions. Gojo fans experienced that with his conclusion. How could a divine being suddenly cease to exist one day? The scar he left is still here, and it aches. But maybe not for long.

Jinshi from The Apothecary Diaries could be the remedy for those who miss Gojo. These characters are worlds apart, but not once you start digging deeper. They share some similarities, but some great differences too. Most importantly, they share the same voice actor, which adds to the resemblance.

Gojo fans should know of Jinshi’s existence because of Kaiji Tang

Gojo is one of the most influential characters of all time. From memes to merchandise, he is everywhere. His conclusion in Jujutsu Kaisen was unexpected, and its effects can still be seen in the fandom. One can’t simply forget and move from those blue eyes and gorgeous white hair.

However, one can always find other beautiful distractions, like Jinshi from The Apothecary Diaries. Kaiji Tang brought both these characters to life in the English dub of their respective series. Apart from sharing the same voice actor, these characters have many other similarities.

Both Gojo and Jinshi are aware of their beauty and its impact on others. They use it to their advantage, even though Gojo doesn’t exactly need to do that much. Another huge aspect of their personality is how they carry deep hurt in their hearts.

Jinshi is more vulnerable as compared to Gojo, who only lets his emotions out during the scene where Geto questioned his existence. Gojo is a lot more playful than Jinshi, but they are both serious when the situation demands it. In dire circumstances, they don’t shy away from taking charge. They’re a good mix of serious and fun, but Jinshi is more serious, whereas Gojo is more fun.

Kaiji Tang is a veteran and a star

Jinshi is the main character in The Apothecary Diaries, and the story delves into his past quite well. He experiences and expresses a wide range of emotions, which is also true for Gojo. Kaiji Tang does a great job at conveying this range and selling the duality of these characters. His voice for Jinshi especially stands out among the cast of The Apothecary Diaries.

Moreover, the voice actor has also played Dazai from Bungou Stray Dogs, who is somewhat similar to these characters but an icon nonetheless. So, Gojo fans can easily watch The Apothecary Diaries, and Jinshi’s existence and his voice could fill the void that Gojo left behind.

Also, if you’re not already watching The Apothecary Diaries, that demands some introspection. Apart from Jinshi, the anime has a lot to offer. It’s a blend of genres, and the characters are well-written and stick with you. It’s a must-watch, whether you do it for Jinshi or for the plot (not that they’re any different).

The Apothecary Diaries is currently available to stream on Crunchyroll.
