RTE Fair City viewers have all been left delighted after Joan finally discovered that James and Gwen had illegally subletted her apartment.
On tonight’s episode, Gwen and James were not impressed with the earnings from their rental scam.
Joan informed a rattled Gwen that she knew she had lied about her sick friend staying.
But James refused to help Gwen cover with Joan until she bribed him with cash.
James then played up his “relationship” with Gwen in front of Joan, but she was not convinced.
However, Joan felt satisfied when Emma confirmed James’ story was true.
Gwen thought she was in the clear, but her cover story unravelled when a lodger’s lost luggage was returned to the flat while Joan was present.
Joan was left furious when she realised that Gwen had been illegally subletting.
Joan then warned Gwen her reckoning was coming.
She then decided to give Gwen an ultimatum – pay her back the profit she earned through her illegal subletting by the end of the month or move out.
And RTE viewers were quick to react to the Carrigstown drama as they took to X.
Sinead wrote: “Yaaasss Joan, take her down.”
Sylvia said: “No normal person would put up with Gwen or James.”
Pamela added: “Boot her out Joan, do us all a favour.”
And Ciara remarked: “How did Joan fall for that act.”
Elsewhere on the show, Dean and Mairead were wracked with guilt over their affair when they were reminded of Damien’s imminent return.
Dean and Mairead’s plan for a romantic lunch date was interrupted when Leo needed help.
CALLING IT QUITS
The couple later realised that Leo knew about their affair but found some comfort in his kind words.
Mairead and Dean then decided to come to terms with the fact that things must end between them.
While that was happening, Liam was enthused about his meeting with the prospective funder to Sharon.
Back at the bar, Carol suspected that Liam’s meeting did not go well.
But, Carol urged a defeated Liam not to give up on the project.
Liam admitted to Carol that his funding fell through in light of the assault.
Separately, Sash played down her interest in Maxine to Nikki.
Nikki apologised to Maxine and pushed her and Sash together.
Sash and Maxine arranged another date.
