In meeting March 19th, the Susanville Citycouncil discussed a moratorium or elimination of the Susanville Planning Commission. The council voted 4-1 to direct staff to begin the process of eliminating the planning commission, with the functions of that agency to now be the responsibility of the council.
City Counsel Margaret Long said the elimination of the planning commission would require a “pretty simple modification” of the city code. She estimated that work could be completed in about 60 days.
Councilmember Patrick Parrish cast the lone no vote in a 4-1 decision.
