Helldivers 2 players are all set to get more reinforcements, as Sony has put the game back on sale in many countries and territories where the game was banned. This ban was rolled out in 2024 when Sony tried to impose the PSN account linking policy on PC players, forcing them to have a PSN account to play the game. The policy was ultimately revoked, but the game remained banned in 177 countries. As a result, the game was bombarded with negative reviews.
Now that the game is unbanned in most regions, Shams Jorjani, the CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios, has requested the fans to change their rating if they want to. Jorjani has spiced things up by revealing that players will get a “Review Bomb Cape” if they change their rating.
Arrowhead Game Studios will give players a “Review Bomb Cape” if they change their review on Steam

The Helldivers 2 community on the official Discord server is celebrating Helldivers 2‘s unban. The game was banned in 177 countries in 2024, but now, the game is available for purchase in most regions.
Shams Jorjani, the CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios, has asked fans to change their review as it is “a point of pride for the team to see their hard work recognized with a higher user review score.” A player then asked Jorjani to give everyone a “Review Bomb Cape” in return, and he agreed.
Jorjani further explained that he will “talk to the team next week,” because the team always felt that everyone should get something special when the game returned to those banned regions. SteamDB has revealed that gamers from these 8 countries still cannot access the game: Belarus, Cuba, Iran, Japan, North Korea, Russia, Syria, and Vietnam. So far, Arrowhead’s incentive has worked as Helldivers 2‘s rating has moved to Mostly Positive on Steam.
Arrowhead Game Studios is determined to give players what they want, but only to some extent

Arrowhead is one of the few studios that completely prioritize players’ feedback. The game lost most of its fanbase due to nerfs and the aforementioned PSN account linking policy, but Arrowhead managed to turn things around in 60 days by listening to the fans. Once again, with this cape, the studio has proved that it is eager to give players the experience that they are looking for.
That being said, developers cannot give players everything they want. In a recent interview, Johan Pilestedt, the Chief Creative Officer of Arrowhead, explained that making something that seems easy is often quite challenging. He pointed out that players have all sorts of complaints and suggestions, but only some of them can be fixed or applied to the game.
If you reside in one of those countries where Helldivers 2 is finally unbanned, make sure you dive right in to assist other divers as the Terminid faction has been making a lot of progress lately.
