Stranger Things: Noah Schnapp’s Will Saw Vecna in the Very 1st Episode and We Didn’t Know Until Now

Viewers met Jamie Campbell Bower’s Vecna in Season 4 as the horrifying new villain that terrorized Hawkins and its residents. However, this may not be his first-ever appearance in Stranger Things. Premiering in 2016, the science fiction horror show took the world by storm, becoming Netflix’s flagship series and one of the most popular franchises on television.

Following the adventures of El and her pals, they set out on an adventure that shaped their childhood as well as tested their friendship. Over the course of four seasons, fans witnessed how they stood up and fought the monster that haunted the sleepy town, but with the introduction of Vecna, it seems like a huge mystery has been unveiled.

The abduction of Noah Schnapp’s Will Byers in the first season of Stranger Things set the story in motion. It was later known that he was taken to the Upside Down, an alternate dimension that left him trapped for a very long time. The Mind Flayer controls this place.

Season 4 introduced Jamie Campbell Bower’s Vecna, who was revealed to have been on the Upside Down. It was Millie Bobby Brown’s El who sent him there, which brings us to a hunch that both he and Will had been spending time in that accursed place, but the audience was, of course, oblivious to this.

It was suggested that Vecna took an interest in Will following a couple of scenes that hinted at his presence in Season 1. In the episode The Vanishing of Will Byers, the young boy was seen riding on his bike on the way home. He then encountered a mysterious figure that looked like Vecna. In that scene, too, a clock was heard in the background. Will rushed to his house to call for help, but it was already too late.

In the beginning, viewers thought that it was the Demogorgon who kidnapped Will because it was the main villain of Season 1. However, there are a couple of hints that Vecna may have been behind this.

The entity chasing Will possessed psychic abilities, and even though the Demogorgon was strong, it could never unlock a door without touching it. The eerie sound of a clock was also a dead giveaway. Remember when Vecna confessed to the murder of Barbara Holland? Take a second look at the mysterious figure in Season 1 and notice how it had a longer left hand than its right. All of these clues point to one obvious conclusion!

Vecna had been there from the very beginning

The Duffer brothers mentioned in the past that Vecna had always been involved in the story. He may have officially appeared late in the show, but his actions completely informed what happened both in the past and present.

Vecna’s story had been carefully planted from the very first episode, which also suggests that his mythology had existed even before the show started.

Stranger Things is currently available to watch on Netflix.
