‘Solo Leveling’s’ Tendency of Removing Entire Scenes Could Pose Trouble for Go Gunhee

Since the second season of the Solo Leveling anime series started, fans have been appreciating every moment of it, except the one aspect that is getting a lot of criticism and hate. This aspect is the anime series’ habit of trimming significant scenes from the episode in order to make it fit within the timeline and the number of episodes assigned for the season.

There have been many instances where the manhwa fans have pointed out the removal of major scenes from the anime that might not be essentially important for the story, but still were anticipated by a huge chunk of the fanbase. And now, the fans fear that the creators might do the same with a big scene involving Go Gunhee.

Go Gunhee is the current Chairman of the Korean Hunters Association and the upcoming episode of the Solo Leveling anime series is supposed to have a big scene featuring him. But as the scene is not majorly significant to the central storyline, there is a big possibility that the anime series might remove it completely.

Go Gunhee finally gets a chance to show a glimpse of his strength

As per the ongoing events in the Solo Leveling anime series, the Jeju Island raid has taken a negative turn as the Ant King has killed almost every S-Rank hunter from Japan, and also the S-Rank Healer Min Byung-Gyu from the Korean team. This has forced Sung Jinwoo to take the matter into his own hands as he decides to take part in the raid himself.

His shadow soldiers are already blocking the monstrous ants that are trying to kill the S-Rank hunters and soon he will also make an appearance and battle it out with the Ant King. Him reaching Jeju Island will be a sigh of relief for the S-Rank hunters and also for the authorities who are conducting the raid, especially Go Gunhee.

Thus, according to the manhwa, when Sung Jinwoo goes face to face with the Ant King, Go Gunhee gets so excited that he breaks his chair with just a small punch. This scene indirectly shows how much Go Gunhee is invested in the raid and what kind of power he is hiding within himself as one of the strongest S-Rank hunters in Korea and also the Chairman of the Korean Hunters Association.

There is a possibility that Go Gunhee might not receive his moment

Although it is already established that Go Gunhee is one of the strongest hunters in Solo Leveling, he rarely gets a chance to showcase his strength. In fact, if he had been in his prime, he would have joined the hunter in the Jeju Island raid and would have taken down the Ant King quite easily.

However, given his position and age, fans can only expect these minor displays of his strength.

But the problem is that his glimpse of strength is not very significant to the central storyline and considering the anime series’ habit of removing unimportant scenes, there is a real possibility that Go Gunhee might not get his moment. Plus, the main focus of the upcoming Solo Leveling episode will be on Sung Jinwoo vs the Ant King.

Thus, all these aspects make it difficult for Go Gunhee to showcase his strength and could cause trouble for him. In the end, it all really depends on the creators of the Solo Leveling anime series and how they develop the storyline of the upcoming episode.

Solo Leveling is available to watch on Crunchyroll.
