Boss Laura Thompson took to social media last night to make the announcement to customers.

And she revealed that a sale with potential new owners had fallen through last week.

The last day for the business is Sunday, March 30.

The Facebook post read: “THE END OF AN ERA.

“It is with the HEAVIEST heart that I must share this post with the world, as I hoped with every ounce of me that it would not come to this.

“Unfortunately, the business sale fell through last week.

“There has been so much to consider but due to a variety of reasons, I have made the difficult decision to permanently close the doors of Slaughterhouse Coffee.

“The LAST DAY will be Sunday, March 30.

“Please come visit for one last coffee if you can.

“It’s always sad when something ends but let’s focus on what an incredible space the Slaughterhouse has been and celebrate it as much as we can in the time that is left.

“And who knows, maybe it will pop up somewhere else in the world one day!

“Big love and so many hugs, LT.”

Customers were left gutted by the news and flocked to the comments.

One person said: “So terribly sad. Well done Laura for a sterling job, and the best coffee in Scotland. Onwards to your exciting new adventures!”

Another wrote: “That’s sad news. Great coffee and a great place to stop whilst out on the bike. Best of luck for the future.”

A third commented: “What sad news to wake up to. The reputation of Slaughterhouse Coffee spread far and wide. A special place.

“It will be so missed. Good luck for all your futures ventures and adventures.”

While a fourth added: “Absolutely gutted as you have provided the best coffee, cakes and customer service for the years that we have been coming up to the Black Isle for our holidays.”
