Well, it seems that according to director/executive producer Ben Stiller, Lumon Industries is set to welcome fans back sooner than anticipated. Appearing on Jason and Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast, the maestro behind the series, Stiller confirmed that Season 3 of Severance will not take three years, unlike Season 2

Stating that while plans for Season 3 have not yet been announced by Apple TV+, Ben Stiller assured that the next installment will not be plagued by any further delays. Claiming to be hopeful about the network announcing plans for Severance Season 3 soon, Stiller’s comments seemingly excited fans.

No, the plan is not to [wait three years]. Hopefully, we’ll be announcing what the plan is very soon.

Following his tantalizing headline-making comments surrounding the progress of Severance Season 3, Ben Stiller reflected on the grueling journey between Seasons 1 and 2. Thereafter, he assured fans that the forthcoming season won’t be marred by similar delays, hinting at a swift production process this time around.

After addressing the proactive developments for Severance Season 3, Ben Stiller reflected on the three-year gap between Season 1 and 2 of the thriller show. Admitting that the hiatus wasn’t just a test of fans’ patience but also a challenge for them to hold onto the fanbase, Stiller candidly discussed the hurdles faced during this frustrating gap.

It took us a little bit to regroup, and the show, we shot for 186 days on Season 2. Editing takes a while, but thank goodness the audience was there when we came back.

The challenge was to get people who hadn’t seen the show to watch the first season, so Apple did a really good job of getting the word out and we did as much press as we could.

Also, three years later, Apple TV+… it’s a different situation there now because they have more viewers. When we started out, we were one of the first shows.

Admitting that the industry strikes attributed to the prolonged gap, Ben Stiller mentioned how challenging it was for them to gather new fanbase, as well as retain the old ones, especially after they failed to come up with Season 2, on time. However, thanking the marketing team that “did a really good job of getting the word out,” Stiller mentioned that Season 3 won’t repeat the same mistake.

Severance is available to watch on Apple TV+.
