The village gained fame as the setting for the much-loved preschool series Balamory, which aired on CBeebies from 2002 to 2005.

The show was known for its colourful characters whose outfits matched the vibrant houses of Tobermory.

There are currently three full-time positions available at the award-winning hotels, with working hours ranging from 38 to 45 hours per week.

The hotels are seeking to hire a chef, front-of-house staff, and a housekeeper.

Salaries start at £12.50 per hour and will be determined based on skills and experience.

Tips are also provided. Shifts are typically between eight and ten hours, with a mix of day and evening work.

Successful candidates will be expected to work weekends.

The job listing on Indeed highlights that “affordable staff accommodation” is available, and all live-in staff will receive three free meals per day.

Additional perks include free meals during shifts, a company pension, and “a fun and energetic work environment“.

Successful applicants will also receive a 50 per cent staff discount on food and drinks across three venues, which can be used during their time off.

Hotel bosses are seeking candidates who “possess a positive attitude, flexibility, and a team player spirit”.

Previous hotel or restaurant experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided.

Applicants should also demonstrate “the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and deliver exceptional service”.

Other desirable qualities include a willingness to grow in the hospitality industry, learn new skills, and share knowledge with others.

The job listing reads: “Are you looking for a fresh start? Then come and join a passionate and close-knit team on the beautiful Isle of Mull, a Scottish island in the Inner Hebrides and winner of the 2025 Scottish Island Hotel of the Year award.”

The deadline for applications is March 28, with an expected start date of 1 April.
