And alongside the likes of Barcelona, Paris and London, Glasgow secured a spot on the coveted list.
Food experts at Glasgow’s Food Group shared their insights with Glasgow Live on why they believe the dear green place has earned its spot among Europe’s top foodie destinations.
Joanne Wade said: “I believe Glasgow is one of the best cities for great food, it’s growing and growing, becoming more cosmopolitan, the food choices are incredible, from Indian, Chinese, Asian, Japanese, Mexican, French, British, Turkish, Italian and not to mention the amount of rooftop bars now serving food, speciality restaurants like Sapporo Teppanyaki, brunch places, afternoon teas galore the list is endless.”
Vinnie Rooney added: “Not only do you have a fantastic choice of great places to choose from but the people looking after you do it so well, as Glaswegians do.”
Dawn Singh continued: “Glasgow has a great vibe, the full experience of delicious, varied food choices, from high end to tasty street food, great service and the locals always make it a friendly and memorable experience.”
Elsewhere, three Scottish restaurants have been recognised as winners in a prestigious list of the UK’s top new food spots.
Experts at Condé Nast Traveller, the global authority on high-end travel, announced the winners of their second annual UK’s Top New Restaurant Awards.
The event, hosted by Condé Nast Traveller’s global editorial director Divia Thani, took place at the Ambassadors Clubhouse in London on Monday night.
