BOSSES of a much-loved chippy in a Scottish idyllic village have put it up for sale after 50 years in business.
The Tuck Inn in Edzell, Angus, has been a staple in the community since it first opened five decades ago.

It is popular among locals and visitors alike for being an incredible sit-in restaurant as well as takeaway.
The iconic venue also has an ice cream booth which is a huge hit in the summer months.
However, the owners have now revealed that it has been put on the market after announcing their plans to retire.
The venue opened in the 1970s but current owner Fred Palmer, 68, took it on in 2021.
It came after he spent years serving fish and chips from the back of a van travelling all over Aberdeenshire.
He took on the 28-seater restaurant after the people who owned it before him put it up for sale after Covid.
I’ve loved running the Tuck Inn and, before that, Fred’s Wee Chippy and if I was only 58 I would have had another 10 years here!

Despite sales increasing over the years – especially at the ice cream counter – he says now is the right time to retire.
However, Fred said it was still a difficult decision to make as he shared the news with followers on social media.
A post on The Tuck Inn’s Facebook page read: “Well that’s it folks, time to hang up my pinny and call it a day, The Tuck Inn is up for sale.
“I’ll be 68 next week and for 51 of those years, I’ve been a worker so I’m gonna spend the next 51 years with my feet up watching Bargain Hunt.
“I’ve loved running the Tuck Inn and, before that, Fred’s Wee Chippy and if I was only 58 I would have had another 10 years here!
“The business is being sold as a going concern, it’s business as usual, seven days a week so I’m not going to thank you all for your custom just yet.
“Love from Fred”.
Locals have been left devasted by the news and many have flocked to the comments to share their disappointment.
However, they also wished Fred luck in his retirement.
One person said: “Aww gutted to hear this Fred. You’ll be missed. But enjoy your retirement when it comes.”
Another added: “Wishing you a happy and healthy retirement when it comes, but can you please make sure any potential buyer can make as good a fish supper as you?”
Someone else wrote: “Sorry you’re not going to be the cheery face behind the counter Fred, but wishing you well in retirement.”
