The WWE universe has long witnessed the arrival of Santino Marella during the early days of the modern era. The tunes of classical Italian music and the calculated brisk walk from the wrestler were received with resounding applause from the WWE universe.
Now retired from professional wrestling, Santino Marella is living the dream through his daughter Arianna Grace. Her performance in the WWE tryout was thoroughly impressive, and her father himself had some interesting thoughts on how she was hired for the company.
Santino Marella talks about the journey of her daughter at the WWE tryout

Talking about her daughter during a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Santino remarked on the kind of impression her daughter created at the WWE tryout. The former United States Champion shared:
She just blew them away. She was the talk of the tryout, and she got hired from that.
Additionally, Santino spoke about teaming up with his daughter during her time in WWE’s developmental brand NXT and in TNA Wrestling. He shared that the collaboration was actually her idea, and thanks to her persistence and knowing how to navigate the system, the proposal was taken seriously and eventually came to life.
He further stated that his working with his daughter was accepted as a feel-good moment for the industry when the duo appeared on the screen.
Commenting on the way in which she was hired in the WWE, Santino Marella mentioned that during her first try out she was not ready and was not hired by the WWE. Santino shared:
For her first tryout, she was not ready. And she didn’t get hired. And this switch went off, she packed up, moved to Orlando, she was training in multiple schools, busting her a*s, got in great shape.
Santino thus explained how an early failure paved the way for her daughter to do the hard work, so much so that she became the kind of professional wrestler tailor-made for the needs of the WWE. And voila, her second tryout became a success. From there, her career started, and she has never looked back since then.
Arianna Grace’s WWE career so far…
Arianna Grace, the daughter of WWE veteran Santino Marella, has been steadily making a name for herself since joining the company in March 2022. She defeated Amari Miller in her NXT Level Up debut the following month, immediately garnering attention.
Grace continued her emphatic in-ring development even after her defeat against Nikkita Lyons early in the 2022 NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament. Her first televised victory came when she defeated Thea Hail in August 2022, announcing her presence to the WWE universe.
Unfortunately, her growth in the company halted when she suffered a torn ACL in October 2022. The injury kept her out of in-ring action for almost a year. She made a comeback in a match against Fallon Henley on NXT Level Up in September 2023. Even though she lost, it was obvious that Grace had returned and was prepared to move full speed with her career.

She has since adopted a new identity as “Miss NXT,” a pageant queen ploy that combines self-assurance, glitz, and a hint of conceit. She has fully embraced the role, presenting herself as a self-appointed role model. She has been featured in storylines with well-known characters like Gigi Dolin and Roxanne Perez.
With the upward trajectory that she is currently on in her career so far, it seems like her appearance on the main roster is only a matter of time, bringing further honour to her father and family name.
