SAM Thompson has today been warned by his concerned brother-in-law that “you can’t outrun this”, as he flees abroad following his Zara McDermott split.
The Sun exclusively revealed yesterday how Sam, 32, has been left “devastated” and “blindsided” following the news his ex Zara, 28, is now dating Louis Tomlinson, 33.

Sam and Zara only split a few months ago in late December.
But The Sun revealed hot the former Love Island star is already dating One Direction singer Louis, after the pair were spotted on a cosy night out.
It was revealed how Louis whisked Zara to a hotel in Aldeburgh, Suffolk, where a fellow diner snapped them enjoying a romantic meal.
Following the news, sources told us that “devastated” Sam has headed off for a break to clear his head.
But his sister Louise‘s fiancé Ryan Libbey, had some wise words for his brother-in-law, and said that he needs face up to the heartbreak, rather than try to “outrun it”.
On the couple’s weekly podcast He said She said, Ryan said of Sam: “We were talking about all sorts of stuff, from things that have happened over the past few years, some stuff super current and we got onto the subject of forms of therapy – which we’ve done different forms, both him and I.
“He’s very much like you [Louise] in that sense that you feel like you need to be busy all the time to keep your mind preoccupied with stuff and keep busy.
“That’s kind of your default as Thompsons.
“But that’s not sustainable, you can’t outrun things, I really believe that you can’t outrun things.
“If you’re actively trying to stay busy to avoid something, you’re never gonna win that race, it’s always gonna catch up with you at some point because something will slow you up.”
‘DEVASTATED’ SAM
The Sun exclusively revealed how Sam was “mortified” when he found out about Zara’s dates with Louis and shocked about how quickly she appears to have moved on.
A source told us yesterday: “Sam is obviously devastated by the news, he was with Zara for years and the break-up has hit him hard.
“He’s taking some time out to focus on himself – it’s completely blindsided and embarrassed him.
“He didn’t expect Zara to move on so quickly and he’s still dealing with the aftermath of the split.

“He’s not found the split easy and has been trying to keep busy and take his mind off it by focusing on work, friends and family.
“But everyone can see that he’s struggling and just needs to take some time out to reassess things.”
“His close knit group of friends have stepped in to support him and his family have been rallying around him,” they continued.
“Although it’s been a tough few months, Sam is determined to put the past behind him and move forward.
“He’s looking to the future now, and all the exciting projects he’s got coming up, like his and Pete’s Staying Relevant Live event at the O2, which is a huge career move for him.
“He’s also headed off on holiday and is trying to focus on doing things he loves, after what has been a difficult time following the split.
“He’s trying to fill his diary over the next few months and keep working hard and believes this could be a fresh start for him.”
THE BREAK-UP
Zara and Sam first when public with their romance in 2019.
However, things turned sour and the two went their separate ways in September 2020 after it emerged that Zara had been unfaithful.
The couple later managed to rekindle their romance in November 2020.
A source told the Daily Mail at the time: “They are certainly back together again. This finally happened about two weeks ago now.
“He took her back.”
However, in January The Sun revealed that the couple had split once more, after dating for five years.
A source close to the couple told MailOnline at the time: “Sam and Zara have ended their relationship. It’s been an incredibly difficult decision for them to part ways, they still care and have a lot of love for each other.
“But after a tough year of working hard at their romance, they have split and will be focusing on their individual careers going forward into 2025.
“There has been no scandal or fallout between them, it’s just the result of a difficult year, where they both had to spend a lot of time focused on their own projects.”
