After the masterpiece that was Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar Games is gearing up for their biggest release next year with GTA 6. Fans have already started creating a wishlist for features that they want implemented in the 2026 title.
Since the map is bound to be bigger, better, and far richer than Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar should bring back a feature from the 2018 game for their latest GTA entry if they want to achieve a greater sense of realism and immersion.
Bounties from Red Dead Redemption 2 can return as Warrants in GTA 6

Red Dead Redemption 2 had a Wanted system that was a bit more complicated and more frustrating than your traditional Stars system that determined your Wanted Level from the Grand Theft Auto series. The Wanted system for the former featured Bounties that had to be paid off at Post Offices.
The more crime you committed, the more Bounty you had to pay. For example, if you shot up the entirety of Valentine, the Lawmen would start searching for you, and Valentine would go into lockdown, indicated by a red border on your minimap.
If a witness managed to survive or if someone saw you without your mask, then you’d either have to kill them, threaten them, or just get far away from Valentine until the Lawmen stopped searching for you.
If you got away with the crime but still have a Bounty on your head, you had to pay it off from the Post Office to get safe passage again through Valentine. The Bounty system could apply to any area in Red Dead Redemption 2, and you had to pay it off if you planned to avoid further skirmishes.
This feature should make a comeback in GTA 6 in the form of Warrants, since the map is all but guaranteed to be much bigger than Red Dead Redemption 2. In previous GTA titles, that Stars system constituted the Wanted Level, with One Star being the lowest and Five Stars being the highest.
At an event of Five Stars Wanted Level, the entire police department and the army would be after you until you were six feet under. GTA 6 should spice up this system by bringing back Bounties in the form of Warrants from Red Dead Redemption 2.
Suppose you go about your life in a district in Leonida, committing crimes, stealing, robbing, and somehow manage to escape the police. However, instead of everyone in that district pretending like nothing ever happened after you escape, it goes into lockdown like Red Dead Redemption 2.
Additionally, a search or an arrest warrant would be issued by the police department to apprehend either Jason or Lucia, depending on who you’re playing as, with the option to pay it off thanks to corruption in GTA 6. This could add another level of realism and immersion, like RDR 2.
However, since GTA 6 takes place in the present day, unlike RDR 2‘s 1899, there should also be a limit to the bribes accepted for your crimes, after which the police would stop cooperating and start coming in guns blazing.
Disguises also seem to be making a comeback in GTA 6

The first trailer for GTA 6 gave us a look at Jason and Lucia’s life of crime, and them robbing a store in broad daylight. However, what stood out from the snippets was the fact that both of them were wearing face masks to hide their identity.
If you remember, in RDR 2, before committing a crime, you could disguise yourself to hide Arthur’s identity from the law and witnesses by wearing face masks or changing your clothes.
This is another feature from RDR 2 that could be making a comeback in GTA 6. As you can see from the image above, Jason and Lucia are both wearing masks while robbing a store to avoid having their identities out in the open.
This could also go hand-in-hand with the Bounty feature, if it makes a comeback to the 2026 title. So, what do you think about the prospect of Bounties returning in GTA 6? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comment section below.
