Tracker fans will be excited to know that a familiar face will finally be returning to the show after some time away!
In a press release shared by CBS, the plot of season 2, episode 15, was revealed, along with a couple of special casting surprises.
In the upcoming episode titled “The Grey Goose,” Justin Hartley’s “Colter recruits fellow rewardist Billie Matalon (Sofia Pernas) to infiltrate a women’s prison in order to gain access to critical information that would help track down an escaped prisoner and her hostage.”
Viewers last saw Billie in episode 3 of season 2 titled “Bloodlines.” She ended up helping Colter find a missing high school baseball star in her hometown. Several episodes later, a lot has certainly changed in Colter’s life as he continues to search for answers about his big family mystery. We’re all wondering the same question: What will Billie and Colter’s dynamic be like now?
Not only is Sofia, Justin’s real-life wife returning to the show, but “Diane Maria Riva returns as detective Helen Brock” as well.
Viewers will remember Diane’s role of Helen from season 1, episode 9, when she and Colter bonded while searching for the missing daughter of a widower. Helen told Colter about a case that she had years prior when a teenage boy went missing and his body was later recovered. His killer was locked up in jail, but she admitted the case was chilling for her and her dedication to the job was the reason her and her husband split.
Colter then shared some details about his personal life with Helen, telling her about the murder of his father and how he was still uncertain about who did it. Of course, he initially assumed his older brother, Russell Shaw, was behind the murder of Ashton Shaw. However Russell, played by Jensen Ackles, denied having anything to do with the death of Ashton despite being in the woods on the night of his death.
Well into the season 2, the mystery surrounding Ashton’s murder remains. But Colter has gotten a few more answers about what his father was up to before his death, including his involvement with the government and an extramarital affair. Many are wondering if the case will come to a head in the finale or spill into season 3 but for now, fans can’t wait to see Billie again.
Justin previously dished on working with his wife on the show during a February 10 appearance on CBS Mornings.
“We like Sofia; she’s your wife in real life, but she plays your nemesis, so when I’m watching and you guys are having this back and forth where you don’t like each other … what is it like looking in her face knowing that you two don’t like each other in this particular plot?” host Gayle King said to Justin during the interview.
“It’s interesting … It’s fun to play because it’s a safe place to play with that,” the This Is Us alum responded. “She’s such a good actor, and they have a complicated past. She betrayed him, and he keeps that in mind when dealing with her.”
Unfortunately, there’s still no word on whether or not Bobby will be featured in the upcoming episode but we’re hoping to see him back on the show soon.
