Successful Rescue **
At approximately 5:00 PM Thursday evening, Plumas County Search and Rescue was paged out for a mission involving an individual who had become stranded in steep terrain off the Bucks Lake/Oroville Highway. The individual had sustained a foot injury and was unable to find their way back to their vehicle.
At approximately 5:00 PM Thursday evening, Plumas County Search and Rescue was paged out for a mission involving an individual who had become stranded in steep terrain off the Bucks Lake/Oroville Highway. The individual had sustained a foot injury and was unable to find their way back to their vehicle.
Utilizing cell phone coordinates, SAR teams were able to locate the individual and their dog, Freya. After safely navigating the terrain, the team assisted the individual back to their vehicle. The individual was then able to seek appropriate medical care.
