Paige DeSorbo Says She ‘Gave All I Could Give’ to ‘Summer House’ Before Exit

Paige DeSorbo acknowledges her Summer House exit will be a “drastic switch” — but one stands by that it was time to say goodbye.

Paige, 32, and cohost Hannah Berner kicked off their Tuesday, June 10, “Giggly Squad” podcast episode with a “moment of silence” for Paige’s time on the Bravo series.

Hannah, 33, described it as “the end of a beautiful era,” while Paige got real about why now was the perfect time to leave the Hamptons behind. “I just feel like I gave all I could give,” she confessed.

Looking back, Paige said that she did have a moment where she was unsure how to exit the show. “You know when you make a drastic switch in your life and before you do it, you’re like, ‘But how am I going to feel when I do it? What if I regret it?’ I was dealing with that,” Paige said. “I was like, ‘But, what if I say it to everyone and then I’m like, Oh, my God I want to go back.’”

Paige DeSorbo Announces Departure From ‘Summer House’ After 7 Years

Paige, who announced her departure from the series earlier this month, noted that after she ripped off the band-aid she feels “so aligned” with her decision.

Hannah teased, “You can Tom Brady it if you want to,” referring to the NFL player’s choice to retire from football in February 2022 before returning for one more season and then retiring for good in February 2023.

“What am I the freshman in college going back to her high school?” Paige quipped, noting, “No, I feel good. It’s kinda also like graduating college. Like you’re like, ‘Oh, this is sad, but I want to go to the next step. I’m excited.’”

Paige explained that saying farewell to Summer House felt a lot like closing her college chapter because, “Whilst you’re doing it you have a flashback, where [you’re like], ‘Oh, I wish we could go back to college. That was so easy and fun.’ I’m sure I’ll have that.”

For now, the Daphne loungewear designer is trying to figure out what her next few months will look like without filming the reality series.

“The fact that I’m starting my summer and nobody’s going to say to me, ‘What story would you like to tell this summer?’ I just feel … what do people do in the summer?” Paige asked with a laugh. “I’m so excited.”

What Is Next for Paige DeSorbo After ‘Summer House’ Exit?

She added that her plans include sticking with her life motto, “I’m gonna sleep so much,” before confessing that being on Summer House for seven years was “such a weird job.”

Paige joined the cast of Summer House during season 3, which premiered in 2019. She has since become a fan-favorite for her hilarious one-liners, love of bed rotting and on-point fashion choices.

As season 9 was coming to an end, Paige hinted that her future on the show was uncertain. She exclusively told Us Weekly last month, “Reality TV, I wasn’t trying to be on it. I’m not trying to be off it or on it.”

She explained, “I think when it fits in your life, it fits in your life. I’ve been really thankful for Summer House because filming is so different than other people’s. We really get away with a lot, it’s just weekends.”

Although she played coy about the upcoming season, once the season 9 reunion aired on Wednesday, June 4, Paige made her intentions known and announced her exit.

“I have a little life update for you: I’ve made the decision not to return to Summer House,” Paige shared via her Instagram Stories on Thursday, June 5. “Being a part of this show has been one of the most rewarding chapters of my life — the friendships, the drama, the giggles, all unforgettable.”

She continued: “You’ve seen me grow up over these last seven summers. I’ll always be beyond grateful for the memories, the community, and the opportunities this wild ride has brought me. But like all good things (and some bad decisions), it’s time for this chapter to close.”

Paige concluded by thanking fans and her fellow castmates for her journey, promising, “You haven’t seen the last of me.”

Paige’s departure comes after season 9 newbie Lexi Wood revealed she would not be returning for a second season.

OG star Carl Radke, meanwhile, exclusively told Us on Friday, June 6, that he looks “forward to spending the summer in the Hamptons with my friend” and was coming back for the milestone season.

The rest of the season 10 Summer House cast has yet to be announced.
