Orlando Pirates set to continue midfield revamp with new target!

Orlando Pirates are on a shopping spree and do not look as if they will be slowing down anytime soon.

If rumours are to be believed, Pirates have already reached at least six transfer agreements ahead of the new season.

Pirates in a midfield revamp

One of the positions that Pirates seem keen to revamp ahead of the new campaign, is their midfield. According to reports, the Buccaneers have transfer agreements in place to sign Sihle Nduli and Sinoxolo Kwayiba. Nduli would be arriving from Stellenbosch FC as a free agent, while Kwayiba is set to join from Chippa United

These moves seem to already be having a domino effect on the current Pirates midfield. It is believed that the Buccaneers are set to part ways with at least four central midfielders to make room. One confirmed being Miguel Timm, with Goodman Mosele also reported to be on his way out. Now according to KickOff.com their midfielder overhaul is set to take them back to Cape Town City star Jaedin Rhodes.

Targeting Rhodes as possible addition

One of those reinforcements could be a long-time target, Jaedin Rhodes. Although the 22-year-old has endured an underwhelming season with Cape Town City, he remains a high priority on the Buccaneers’ list. The club has been met with resistance by City in previous attempts to lure Rhodes to Gauteng, but according to sources, will try once more in the upcoming window. Complicating matters will be the Citizens’ peculiar situation.” Wrote the publication.

Pirates will also be cognisant of the fact the Rhodes only recently signed a new five-year deal with City but what could end up being an advantage to them, is if the Citizens end up getting relegated. That could then force their owner John Comitis to cash in on some of his biggest assets.

Would he be the right fit for the Bucs?
