A NEW holiday village with overnight lodges is set to transform one of the UK’s best theme parks.
Paultons Park is the one of the only major theme parks in the UK to not have any on-site accommodation.

New designs show plans for up to 95 lodges, with a Scandinavian theme throughout[/caption]
And new plans have been revealed by the theme park to open as many as 95 lodges, sleeping up to 700 guests.
The village would be “Scandinavian” style, local media reports, which is often the use of natural woods and large windows.
Along with lodges, a restaurant and small shop would be on-site as well as an entertainment and games room near the main reception area.
Some of the current car park would be revamped for holiday village guests only.
The park said it is “essential” to build the holiday resort, after a number of other theme parks have since increased their overnight stay options.
James Mancey, deputy managing director at Paultons Park said: “We are in the very early stages of developing a vision for accommodation at Paultons Park.
“We are committed to continually reinvesting into our attraction, providing a world-class experience for our guests, and planning for the long-term.
“In the immediacy, we already have extensive and very exciting expansion projects underway and the current works on site remain our priority.”
An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) has been issued to the council, before planning permission can be requested.
And the park said the resort is likely to take “several years” to open even if given the go-ahead.
Expected prices of the holiday lodges is yet to be confirmed, as well as designs of what they could look like.
Paulton’s Park – home to the famous Peppa Pig land – has won a number of awards including being the best theme park for kids and families last year.
And the theme park is opening a new ride this summer.
Replacing the previous 4D cinema, the indoor Ghostly Manor ride will open on May 17.
And a new Viking themed land is set to open at the park next year, although little else is known about it.
And it’s not just Paulton’s Park that has new accommodation.
Gulliver’s World opened seven new lodges last year at the park.
Also last year, Legoland opened their £35million Woodland Village resort.
On-site are 130 lodges, each with mini playgrounds, and an on-site restaurant.
And Chessington’s new rooms last year included an Oreo-themed room and Capri-sun themed room.
