One Fan-Made Guardians Team-up Might Be Perfect for Solving Marvel Rivals’ Biggest Frontline Headache

A Reddit user might have solved one of the biggest gameplay issues Marvel Rivals has had. In most cases, Vanguard players often complain about not getting heals from the backline even after mitigating tons of damage for the team. However, they sometimes forget the basic mechanics that you must protect your Supports to receive a sufficient amount of heals.

With the Flier meta still active, it became a nightmare for Support players to stay alive as they get jumped on almost all the time. Ask any Cloak & Dagger main, and they can confirm that it’s not easy to survive Iron Man’s Repulsor Blast or Human Torch’s Supernova. It’s not like NetEase has provided no cooldown to Dark Teleportation to avoid those deadly attacks all the time.

Vanguards complain a lot about not getting heals in Marvel Rivals

While the out-of-position Vanguard mains are screaming their lungs out for heals, Support characters are probably fighting for their lives against characters such as Psylocke, Iron Man, and Black Panther. Forget their positioning, the Tank mains just need sufficient heals to mitigate deadly damage from the opponent.

One’s not claiming this is an issue for every other Vanguard player, but it’s pretty common during most matches. However, they often forget the fundamental approach to the game. Support characters are considered one of the most crucial roles in Marvel Rivals.

It’s quite evident that killing these Support Heroes leads to a massive disadvantage during teamfights due to a lack of heals. However, assigning a dedicated Dueslist or Vanguard Hero to protect those from a flank or flying Hero would be a great approach for teams. But alas! it seems that no one even cares for those Heroes.

Hate to break it to you, there are a few bad Support players out there who try to sabotage the game or are not good enough to provide timely heals. But that doesn’t represent the whole section of Support mains.

Those who try to provide the required healing must be protected at any cost. It’s not like NetEase will introduce a new team-up for Tanks to utilize their self-healing ability to sustain themselves. Oh, wait! We might have a solution for this long-standing issue.

Guardians of the Galaxy are here to save your day

Imagine a scenario where Vanguard characters have a team-up ability to heal themselves during an intense situation, wouldn’t that be remarkable in Marvel Rivals? You might’ve imagined countless scenarios, but failed to think of a proper idea and share it with your pals. Well, that’s not the case anymore.

A user named u/RamenDrive has come up with a team-up idea featuring Guardians of the Galaxy characters, Groot and Mantis. Unlike the galaxy, both characters might end up saving the meta.

In this fan-made team-up, the Celestial Madonna gets two or three extra plant orbs. However, the fun begins with Groot as he can summon a green-colored plant that’ll provide AOE healing to himself and nearby allies. Sounds interesting, right?

Another great idea that caught our attention suggests that what if Groot blooms to provide the necessary self-healing along with his nearby allies. Let’s be honest, placing a plant might feel hectic, and its wrong placement might affect the outcome. However, using the Bloom ability would be a more viable option as it can be used instantly with just a button press.

This Guardians team-up isn’t the only idea on the feed. One comment suggested an exclusive team-up between Loki and Thor in Marvel Rivals, where the God of Mischief is the anchor. In this case, Thor can receive a self-healing ability to affect the opponents.

Honestly, it’s a genuine, long-standing issue that has persisted since the beginning of Marvel Rivals. Regardless of the outcome, Support characters are the only characters that get blamed for no good reason.

So, it comes down to these facts: either Vanguard players should protect the Supports to nullify their headache, or NetEase should implement some team-up abilities featuring passive healing to settle this discussion.

What’s your take on this Guardian team-up abilities? Do you think this can solve the Vanguards’ headaches, or are the Supports the only ones to take the blame for the outcome of games? Let us know in the comments.
