My hair all fell out after having my second kid – now my locks are super thick & healthy thanks to a 59p buy

A RADIO presenter has revealed that she suffered severe hair loss after having her second child, but a 59p buy has got it looking thick and healthy again.

Losing your hair after giving birth is fairly common, due to hormonal changes.

It usually starts two to four months postpartum, and generally lasts for six to 12 months, although some women suffer for longer.

Speaking on the podcast she shares with Georgia Dayton, Made By Mammas, TV presenter Zoe Hardman revealed that lots of her hair fell out after she had her second child, Kit.

“It’s been really hard for me, I lost so much hair,” she said.

Zoe, who’s married to retired rugby player Paul Doran-Jones, explained that she had to use hair extensions to cover up the hair loss, until she discovered a product that made a huge difference.

The presenter revealed that for the last six months, she has been Champo’s Pitta growth serum, and is blown away by the results.

The serum harnesses Caffeine, Creatine and Ayurvedic Haritaki Extract to promote healthier hair growth, and promises noticeable improvements within 12 weeks.

It’s suitable for all hair types, and harnesses anti-hair loss and anti-dandruff actives.

For best results, the product should be used daily, on dry or damp hair.

Simply split your hair into sections, and then apply 3-4 drops of the serum across your scalp, before massaging it in with your fingertips.

You can purchase a five-month supply of the product online for £88, meaning it costs just 59p per day.

Zoe revealed that what she likes about the Champo serum, is that you can use the products along side hair extensions.

“Because the product isn’t greasy or oily, you can use it alongside hair extensions until your natural hair grows back,” she said.

She added that since using the product, she has gone down from three to just one row of extensions.

“I reckon I’ve lost half of my extensions now, and my hair feels super thick,” she said.

Hair re-growth FAQs

Anabel Kingsley, Consultant Trichologist and Brand President at Philip Kingsley spoke exclusively to Fabulous.

How long does it take for hair to grow back?

Hair grows, on average, half an inch a month. You cannot speed this up.

Do rosemary oil and scalp massages work?

Oils do not promote hair growth. In terms of rosemary oil, the current trend stems from one small study carried out on 50 men in 2015. No women were involved, and the study compared the effects of 2 per cent minoxidil to Rosemary oil. 2 per cent minoxidil doesn’t do much for
male pattern hair loss anyway, so the results were not very impressive.  Oils do serve a purpose in conditioning hair treatments though. They help add shine and smooth the hair cuticle to lock-in moisture and improve combability.  Scalp massages alone won’t cure hair loss, but it can help relax you, aid in lymphatic drainage, exfoliate and help topicals penetrate.

Are there any products or foods/vitamins you recommend someone using or eating to help with hair regrowth?

To support healthy hair regrowth, if you are experiencing hair thinning we’d recommend our Density Preserving Scalp Drops clinically proven to help slow hair loss with continued daily use within three months.

Telogen effluvium (hair shedding) due to nutritional deficiencies can often be simply treated with changes to your diet, and nutritional supplements such as our specially formulated Density Healthy Hair Complex and Density Amino Acid Booster.

Iron and Ferritin (stored iron) in red meat, dried apricots and dark, leafy greens. Vitamin B12 in animal products and fortified plant-based foods. Protein from oily fish, lean meat, cottage cheese, tofu, nuts, chickpeas, and beans.

However, there may be an underlying cause for their hair loss and rather than this being masked by using an off-the-shelf product, they should be encouraged to seek the advice of a specialist such as a Trichologist.

“It’s really shiny and really healthy, I absolutely love the range.”

Georgia added that although she has not suffered from hair loss after having children, she has noticed that her hair has started to thin with age.

To combat this, she takes collagen supplements and uses the CurrentBody LED helmet, which is priced at £6.50.

“There are loads of things out there, and it’s just about trial and error,” Georgia said.

However, she added that the product will only work if you are very consistent with it.
