But what does this mean for their future on the hit morning programme?
TV Twin doctors, Chris and Xand van Tulleken, are back – and this time, they’re bringing their medical know-how to the airwaves with a brand-new Radio 4 and BBC Sounds podcast, What’s Up Docs?
Launching on March 25, the weekly show will see the dynamic duo tackle the biggest health and wellbeing questions, from testosterone therapy to the truth about microplastics.
Expect expert guests, science-backed advice – and, of course, plenty of sibling banter!
Bonus ‘Doctors’ Notes’ episodes will also drop on BBC Sounds, giving listeners even more top tips for living well.
Dr. Chris van Tulleken said: “We are not people who breeze through life; like many we are grappling with the chaos and struggling with our personal flaws.
How can we be better parents, sons and husbands whilst staying fit, eating well and remaining calm?
And because we are identical twins, we’re always asking, are my problems genetic? Or my fault? Or caused by the world around me?”
Dr. Xand van Tulleken said: “Although we’re twins, we’re very different and we never stop arguing about science and health.
We want to lead healthy, happy lives and as doctors who care deeply about public health, we want this for everyone.
But we tussle over how best to get there, debating where we should put our money, time, and energy, and what’s the best that can be achieved both collectively and individually.”
Dr Chris and Xan van Tulleken, 40, are identical twin brothers.
Xand is the older of the identical twins and is half an inch shorter than Chris – both were born on August 18, 1978.
He has a diploma in Tropical Medicine, International Humanitarian Assistance and a masters in Public Health from Harvard.
