Marvel Rivals Boss Admits One “Visually Spectacular” Team-up Ability Can Fry Your PC if They Don’t Balance It

Can anyone deny the fact that Marvel Rivals is the best hero-shooter out there right now? It’s a game that combines the classic 6v6 formula with characters inspired by the vast universe of Marvel heroes and villains, and gamers simply can’t get enough of it. Developer NetEase Games has truly done a remarkable job.

One of the best features in Marvel Rivals is the Team-Up Ability. It brings a new layer of uniqueness to the gameplay and offers cooperative abilities and bonuses that emerge from connections between our favorite heroes and villains. Some of them are genuinely speculator treats and even fry your PC!

This one Marvel Rivals‘ team-up ability can crash your PC!

What’s so unique about Marvel Rivals compared to other hero shooters? Well, the game doesn’t really focus on competitive balancing. That’s right, NetEase Games aims to deliver a fun experience, not a sweat fest where everything needs to be balanced.

In an interview with PC Gamer, Marvel Rivals‘ executive producer Danny Koo gave insights into NetEase’s approach towards balancing in the game. He further reveals that Marvel Rivals aims to make every hero unique, taking the example of the breathtaking firestorm team-up combo between Human Torch and Storm.

I mean, the latest content with Human Torch and Storm, the flame and whirlwind combination, becomes a firestorm. That in itself is visually spectacular. But then I think the graphic team also needs to make sure that it doesn’t kill your entire graphic resources, especially if you’re in the eye of the storm.

If you’re unaware, Storm and Human Torch’s Team-Up Ability is called Storming Ignition, and it’s as wild as the name sounds. Both of these heroes can combine their ultimates to create a deadly flaming tornado that can wreck enemies.

It’s truly a breathtaking spectacle watching this combo; the combination of fiery chaos and swirling winds doesn’t disappoint. However, it brings a technical challenge to implement. As Koo states, the developers work hours upon hours to make sure the visuals come with performance optimization so gamers can enjoy the chaos without frying their hardware!

Marvel Rivals’ reveals new skins for Iron Man and Spider-Man

During the beta testing phase of Marvel Rivals, NetEase Games gave players a number of unique skins. These included the Spider-Punk 2099 skin for Spider-Man and the Steam Power skin for Iron Man. However, after the end of the beta, these skins went away, and gamers couldn’t help but wonder when or if they’ll ever return in the future.

NetEase Games has finally answered the prayers of players wishing for a return of beta skins. The developer has revealed that gamers will be able to purchase the skins for Iron Man and Spider-Man on March 20th, 2025, at 7 AM PDT.

While we finally have a release date for Spider-Punk 2099 and Steam Power Iron Man skins, NetEase hasn’t revealed the official prices. However, reports suggest that the Iron Man skin bundle might cost 1,600 units.

Gamers and leakers were caught off-guard by the release of Spider-Punk 2099 to the game, as it was thought that NetEase would first release the brand-new Black Panther skin. Let’s hope with the upcoming updates, NetEase also brings other beta-exclusive skins to the hero-shooter.
