A MAN has been charged as part of an investigation into an assault of a woman on a commuter bus service.

The man, who is aged in his 30s, was arrested yesterday after appearing on Monday night’s episode of RTE’s Crimecall.

A clip of the incident, which took place on a Go-Ahead Bus in Rathfarnham on May 29, appeared on the show earlier this week.

And following the arrest, gardai thanked members of the public who came forward with information that assisted in their investigation.

A garda spokesperson said: “An Garda Siochana would like to thank the public for their assistance following the recent appeal regarding this incident broadcast on last night’s Crimecall episode.”

Gardai this morning confirmed that the arrested man, who was being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in Dublin, has been charged in connection with the assault.

A spokesperson said: “The man, 30s, arrested as part of the investigation into an assault that occurred on a commuter bus service in Rathfarnham, Dublin 14 on the 29th May 2024, has been charged.

“He is due to appear before Criminal Court of Justice, Dublin this morning, Thursday 29th January 2025.”
