Mamelodi Sundowns have retained the services of utility player Thapelo Morena for the upcoming campaign.
Morena’s contract with Sundowns was set to expire at the end of June but the club has decided to extend it.
According SABC Sport, the Tshwane giants had an option on Morena’s contract, and they have triggered that option.
As reported by The South African, Sundowns have tied down veteran defender Mosa Lebusa.

“SABC Sport can confirm that Mamelodi Sundowns have triggered the option on one of their long-serving players in Thapelo Morena,” reads part of the report.
“The option means Sundowns have the defender on their books at least until the end of June 2026, but it is not yet clear at this stage whether there are imminent talks on a new contract altogether.
“Morena joins a list of several other players who had the option clause triggered – among them Terrence Mashego, Khuliso Mudau and Aubrey Modiba.”
