Lightning Storm Sparks Two Wildfires in Southern Plumas County

Thunder and lightning storm brought multiple lightning strikes across southern Plumas County, resulting in two confirmed wildfires as of this morning:

đŸ”„ Table Fire – Located off La Porte Road, south of Turn Table (south of Quincy). This fire was quickly contained and has been fully mopped up. Estimated at 0.1 acres. There is no further threat at this time.

đŸ”„ Letter Fire – Located off Grizzly Road near Grizzly Forebay, west of Bucks Lake. This fire is currently estimated at 10 acres and is exhibiting a moderate rate of spread. Crews have established hand lines along the northern flank. Air Attack and an air tanker have been requested to assist with suppression efforts today.

We will continue to monitor the status of the Letter Fire and any new fire activity that may likely emerge as a result of yesterday’s lightning.
