Kaizer Chiefs are determined to boost their attack ahead of next season, and with international quality stars.
Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has made it his personal mission to go out and get the top attackers he needs.
Chiefs interested in boosting their attack
One of the things Chiefs have failed to get in the past seasons are goals. Nabi had been lamenting the lack of final product in his squad throughout his debut season at the club. It is then no surprise to see him linked with players Fiston Mayele, who finished top scorer in the CAF Champions League. He is also a DRC international and a winner of that competition with FC Pyramids.
It has also been said that Nabi went and convinced another long-term target in Feisal Salum to join. The player has a very good record scoring goals and also making assists in Tanzania. The player Nabi coached both players while at Yanga SC, and is hoping to use his positive relationship to lure both. Now that isn’t expected to be all for Chiefs. Rumours out of Tunisia claim they’ve reignited their interest in Bafana Bafana international Elias Mokwana.
Links to Mokwana dismissed
Now according to Mokwana’s agent, there has been no such bid from Chiefs to Esperance for the player.
“There is no truth in those reports about Mokwana joining Kaizer Chiefs, there’s nothing, nothing like that. It’s just people having wishes, and it’s one of those disturbing stories. His camp has not received nor heard any word from Chiefs and I can tell you, Mokwana is still happy at Esperance,” said the agency speaking to KickOff.com
Big blow?
Having just won the treble and preparing for the FIFA Club World Cup, reports linking Mokwana to Chiefs appeared suspicious. Amakhosi, is it a big blow to see the links to the 25-year-old dismissed?
