It’s been almost two years since Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake 2 hit the shelves. Not only did the title receive acclaim from both critics and fans, but it also managed to become the developer’s best-selling video game ever. The game managed to snatch a ton of awards, nominations, and even some wins at The Game Awards 2023.
If you’re someone who’s a big-time fan of the acclaimed psychological horror game and also happens to have an Xbox Game Pass subscription, there’s some good news. Remedy Entertainment’s upcoming title, FBC Firebreak, is all set to join the subscription service on June 17. Why should you care about this game? Well, it brings a level of experience that makes Alan Wake 2 one of the best games ever.
Alan Wake 2 fans, mark June 17 on your calendars

We all know Remedy Entertainment for delivering some revolutionary single-player games that carry twisted stories. However, the studio is embarking on a brand-new adventure with FBC Firebreak. As you’d expect, it’s yet another addition to the Remedy’s expansive connected universe, which connects all of the studio’s legendary games together.
FBC Firebreak is a co-op FPS set six years after the events of Control. In the game, we’ll see teams comprised of three players who take on “Jobs,” where they will be tasked with battling The Hiss and completing various challenges, objectives, and much more.
Don’t worry, though; FBC: Firebreak is playable in duos and solos. However, it will be better to invite your friends as Remedy has designed the game in a manner to deliver the ultimate three-player experience. Before hopping into matches, gamers will be able to modify their Crisis kit and select which grenades, tools, and items to unleash hell on the battlefield.

FBC Firebreak‘s gameplay is chaotic, demanding, and interactive, everything players absolutely adored in Alan Wake 2. What’s even better is that FBC: Firebreak will be a day-one release for Xbox Game Pass. So, if you’re a fan of Remedy’s psychological horror, circle June 17 on your calendar, as you simply can’t miss out on FBC Firebreak.
FBC Firebreak is repeating Alan Wake 2‘s worst mistake

While FBC Firebreak is following the footsteps of Alan Wake 2 in terms of bringing fun and engaging gameplay, it’s also making a terrible mistake, like the psychological horror.
So far, every bit of information we’ve received for FBC Firebreak, such as social media posts, available platforms, and prices, indicates that the co-op FPS will only hit the shelves as a digital copy. That’s right, Remedy might not be making any physical copies of the game.
It’s not the first time Remedy has pushed for a digital release. Back when Alan Wake 2 debuted, it did not receive a physical release. It was only after the community outrage that Remedy decided to give the game physical copies.
It’s mind-boggling how Remedy hasn’t learned from the backlash caused by Alan Wake 2‘s digital-only release. Let’s hope the studio reconsiders this decision and releases a physical edition in the future.
FBC Firebreak will be released on June 17, 2025, on Xbox Series S/X, PS5, and PC.
