‘It’s the same’, people cry as beloved Dublin Airport bar reopens in time for St Patrick’s Day after months of closure

DUBLIN Airport have reopened a beloved bar after months of closure – but some people have claimed that there isn’t much change to it.

The Garden Terrace in Dublin Airport’s Terminal 1 is back open after closing last November for upgrades.

The closure was announced by the Airport on their Facebook, with a promise that “the popular outlet will be back open – better than ever – in Q1 2025!”

And Dublin Airport travellers can now celebrate as it’s reopened just in time for summer.

They shared the news on Instagram today with: “Look what’s back, baby…”, before sharing a video of the newly-opened pub on X.

The revamped space now seems to feature a different seating arrangement, along with more greenery and a more modern vibe compared to before.

The Garden Terrace is a top spot among holidaymakers for hot food, coffee and pints while waiting for flights.

But some visitors think the spot looks almost the same as before – just with a lot less seating.

One person commented: “It’s the same, they’ve just removed some of the seats and tables.”

Another shared: “Same layout, worse design. It’s a no from me.”

However, Dublin Airport mentioned that they haven’t showed off all the changes yet, saying: “Will reveal all soon”.

And some holidaymakers are loving the new look.

One person wrote: “I like it, looks much better.”

And another added: “I can’t wait to have a drink here.”

NEW BAR OPEN

Meanwhile, Dublin Airport has confirmed that their new Arthur Guinness Bar is open for business.

The new spot is open this week just in time for St Patrick’s Day weekend – but some people have already cried that it’s a “rip-off”

Up first, a breakfast roll with sausage & bacon or egg & cheese will set you back almost €12 while hot drinks start at €2 for a cup of tea and go all the way up to €9.95 for an Irish coffee.

For lunch, prices range from €7.95 for soup, up to €13.95 for a toasted sandwich and €17.95 for stew.

And pint prices range from €7.20 to €7.60 for a draught beer, such as a pint of Guinness, Hop House and Harp Lager.

People have taken to the comment section to share their frustration with the prices.

One person wrote: “Wow ripoff Ireland strikes again! €4.25 for a bottle of water.”

Another said: “€7.20 for a Guinness. Do your staff wear balaclavas?’
