The Beginning After the End (TBATE) released its cover art. The fans of the Western fantasy webnovel have been waiting for many years to see it get an anime adaptation. But now, when the fans look at the visual on the cover, it looks like just another generic isekai anime.

The isekai genre has taken over the anime scene in recent years, with hundreds of anime being pumped out each year. The Beginning After the End is a unique series that focuses a lot on character development and world-building, but the promotional art does little to set it apart from other isekai.
Is The Beginning After the End just another isekai?
Many fans are wondering if the passion that is going into the making of the series is going to be limited this way, if the cover itself is not captivating and showing the unique essence of the work, how will the anime manage to stand apart from the many isekai series that already exist?

The cover art is a pleasant scenery with the main characters of the first season standing in a garden, walking on a path that is surrounded by flowers under a big blue sky. There is an adventure party as well, bearing different arms and garments.
I’m gonna be honest but this cover art looks like any generic Isekai anime

It’s understandable why some fans feel disappointed with this initial presentation, it doesn’t scream innovation. It feels like all the important characters have been put in one frame, looking happy.
However, despite its seemingly unoriginal premise, the series itself is unique and has something most generic isekai fail to achieve a well-executed narrative and a protagonist that is excellently developed.
The Beginning After the End stands apart from the crowd
Unlike Solo Leveling, where the narrative and growing strong are the focus, The Beginning After the End takes its sweet time, slows down the pace, and fleshes out the enigma of a character that is Arthur Leywin or King Grey in his past life.

The protagonist here isn’t just a standard overpowered hero. His story has depth, emotional weight, and many choices that make it seem real and impactful. Although isekai anime are a dime a dozen these days, none of them can compare to TBATE when it comes to the actual storytelling.

That is why, even if the animation is not great or the pacing is bad, the narrative itself is a winner, and fans will be drawn to it either way. Although the series itself begins like many other power-fantasy isekai, it gradually sets itself apart.
So we can only wait and see how TBATE will impress us, even though the marketing may make it seem generic, there is a reason it is so popular and famous (even the webcomic), and it will soon be set apart from the others.
The Beginning After the End anime will air on April 2, 2025.
