Hulu’s surprise hit Paradise ended season 1 on a couple of huge cliffhangers. Now, fans are dying to know if the series is coming back for season 2.

Is Hulu’s ‘Paradise’ Coming Back for Season 2?
The streaming network announced on February 20, 2025, that Paradise is returning for season 2.
“Paradise is renewed for Season 2! Let’s go! #ParadiseHulu is now streaming on Hulu and with #HuluOnDisneyPlus. New episode Tuesday!” the series’ official Instagram page wrote alongside a video of Sterling K. Brown, who shared the news by showing the words “Season 2” written on his palm, a wink to an incident with his character in the first season.
Plus, show creator Dan Fogelman (who was also behind the well-loved This Is Us) won’t be making viewers wait very long to get some of the answers to their lingering questions. One fan begged Dan on X to not “wait two years to give us season 2 of Paradise @hulu,” and he assured them he wouldn’t.
“We start shooting in just a few weeks. It won’t be 2 years I promise! #Paradise,” he replied.
In a separate interview, Dan had previously revealed that he ultimately hopes to get three seasons out of the series.
“I have a plan for three seasons of the show. Without giving away too much, each season of the show is a slightly different show, within the same show with the same characters. The pilot reveals something at the end, and then there’s twists and turns in the course of the season,” he said during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published on January 28, 2025. “The goal at the end of the first season … I get frustrated by television shows that titillate and keep you guessing and have twists and turns, but then don’t give you the answers at the end of your first break going off the air. I want to provide a complete meal by the end of the episode for the audience that’s invested.”
Dan concluded, “Any question that people have after the first couple of episodes should be answered at the end of the eighth episode. Then a new question and journey will start that takes us into the second season.”
Who Is Returning for ‘Paradise’ Season 2?
While no official casting announcements have been made as of yet, it’s safe to say that Sterling will return as Agent Xavier Collins. Fans can also likely expect to see Julianne Nicholson return as Sinatra, Krys Marshall as Agent Robinson, Nicole Brydon Bloom as Jane and Sarah Shahi as Dr. Gabriela Torabi. However, it remains unanswered if viewers will get to see James Marsden back in the role of President Cal Bradford, even if it is just in flashbacks.
‘Paradise’ Season 2 Will Pick Up Where Season 1 Left Off
The biggest questions presented in Paradise season 1 were answered by the finale. Viewers know who killed Cal and what happened to the world that led the group to create their city underneath the mountain. However, Dan said that this was always the plan because he wanted to answer fans’ questions in a “satisfying way.”
While the finale answered questions, it also presented several more that will take viewers into season 2 like whether or not Xavier’s wife is really alive and if Sinatra will survive.
“When I first told Sterling where the show was going after he read the pilot, I said the season ends with him getting on a plane and flying out of the bunker to see what’s out there in the world,” Dan explained in an interview with Deadline published on March 4, 2025. “My other hope was that it would feel like a great cliffhanger in that it asks a whole new set of questions.”
