Liam Cunningham seemingly embodied his Game of Thrones character, Ser Davos Seaworth, during a high-risk humanitarian mission aboard a vessel headed for Gaza. The actor, together with climate activist Greta Thunberg and ten other members, reportedly sailed to the area aboard the Madleen, a boat launched by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition from Sicily, Italy, on Sunday.
The crew’s mission was to deliver essentials for the Palestinians in Gaza, which included baby formula, food, and medical supplies. They also planned to break the Israeli blockade, which has left millions of people struggling to make it through the day.
Liam Cunningham was spotted helping activists sailing for Gaza

He is known as the Onion knight, Ser Davos Seaworth in Game of Thrones, and Irish actor Liam Cunningham evidently draws inspiration from his onscreen role after he allegedly joined the Madleen crew.
While this may have been the initial report, CBS News revealed that the actor “did not take part in the voyage after helping to load the vessel.” Even if Cunningham was not actually in the boat, it did not matter; he had been very vocal about his opinions on the issue, even delivering a moving speech before the boat set sail.
While speaking on Saturday with Colm Ó Mongáin on RTÉ Radio 1, he shared his anxiety about the safety of the crew and hoped that the vessel would be able to get through.
If anything happens to the boat, it’s not a confrontation – it’s a deliberate attack.
The actor, who made his fortune starring in movies and shows, believes he has a moral obligation to do what he thinks is right during these trying times. Being in his sixties, he has enjoyed life and paid his mortgage. He does not believe that his choice to help would have any consequences. More importantly, he wanted to be able to look at his grandchildren when they grew up and tell them that he did something during this period in history.
Having the money and the means, Cunningham does not wish to be like those people who would say they didn’t do anything or worse—they didn’t care. Finally, he remarked: “The world cannot stand by and allow this to continue.”
Fans would remember Cunningham’s Ser Davos Seaworth as the former Hand of the King to Stannis Baratheon and the Master of Ships to Bran Stark’s Small Council.
Madleen crew is reportedly seized by Israeli forces

The vessel carrying supplies was reportedly intercepted by the Israeli forces, as it was prevented from reaching the strip of Gaza. Freedom Flotilla Coalition claimed that the crew members were abducted, and they received a pre-recorded message stating that the life-saving cargo had been confiscated.
The Israel Defense Ministry, however, stated that the passengers were expected to return home as they would never be able to cross.
This is not the first time the group tried to reach the area by sea; last month, a boat was attacked by two drones, which damaged the front section of the vessel.
