“I’m warning you, don’t come for my man”: Beyoncé’s Cold Warning to the Mystery Woman Jay-Z Cheated With and Forever Regretted

Beyoncé and Jay-Z should be proud of the things they’ve gone through to keep their twenty-year-long relationship intact. It’s never an easy task to keep the spark alive as trouble somehow tends to find its way to wreak havoc on anything that radiates with positivity. Unfortunately, the couple did experience a rough patch a few years ago based what on their latest hits have conveyed through their lyrics.

Beyoncé’s Sorry was the song that first hinted at Jay-Z’s infidelity. The song blatantly spoke about a man being unfaithful to his partner, but it was the final line which said “He better call Becky with the good hair” that caused a stir and led to a lot of speculation.

However, it doesn’t seem like the Queen Bee has gotten over the incident yet. Her latest hit Jolene from the 2024 album Cowboy Carter had a few lines that seemed like threats to the unidentified woman who got involved with her husband.

Beyoncé’s latest Cowboy Carter album was very different from her usual approach to writing music. Tracks on the album featured country music elements which is unlike anything we’ve seen Beyoncé dabble with.

The album was an absolute hit, but her song Jolene was what caught everybody’s attention with regard to Jay-Z’s cheating scandal. This song was Beyoncé’s rendition of the iconic 1973 classic which was released by Dolly Parton, an established legend in country music.

Parton was also featured during the interlude of the music video where she gave a small back story of what inspired the original track. The legend claimed that she resonated with Beyoncé’s pain as she went through the same situation back in the day.

Beyoncé also tweaked the lyrics of the original song by adding lines like “I’m warning you, don’t come for my man” and “You don’t want this smoke so shoot your shot with someone else”.

In an Instagram post, the Drunk in Love hitmaker mentioned that the album was a result of an experience she had years ago where she “did not feel welcomed”. Honestly, it cannot get any more obvious that this and Beyoncé clearly waiting to pounce on the woman who nearly tore her family apart.

When rumors began flooding the internet, things would’ve certainly gotten extremely hard for Jay-Z to digest, which is why he decided it was best to come clean to his fans and express how he felt about the situation when it happened.

During a 2017 interview with The New York Times, the two-time Primetime Emmy Award winner addressed the rumors by saying,

The hardest thing is seeing [the] pain on someone’s face that you caused, and then have to deal with yourself. You have to survive. So you go into survival mode, and when you go into survival mode, what happens? You shut down all emotions. So, even with women, you gonna shut down emotionally, so you can’t connect. In my case, like, it’s deep. And then all the things happen from there: infidelity.

Jay-Z’s song 4:44 also had a couple of lines that were seemingly written as an apology to his wife. Nobody has been able to uncover the mysterious identity of the woman Beyoncé keeps referring to, but it was rumored that Rita Ora was involved with the rapper.

Ora, who was previously signed to Jay-Z’s record label Roc Nation before acquiring a deal with BMG, denied having anything to do with him (via The Mirror). According to Stylecaster, cheating rumors emerged when a video of Beyoncé’s sister attacking Jay-Z in an elevator surfaced. However, there’s no evidence to prove if it was her sister who was entangled with the rapper.
