Sadie Sink’s star keeps shining as the Stranger Things actress reportedly joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a mystery role. She will be joining Tom Holland in the upcoming Spider-Man sequel from Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios.

While Sink’s role is yet to be disclosed, there have been many speculations as to which part she will be playing, and it is reportedly a significant one. With the ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home leaving everything open to new possibilities, fans can assume that Sink’s character will have a profound impact on Peter Parker’s journey.
Gemma Chan still doesn’t know her future in the Eternals franchise
It’s a great day to be a Marvel fan as Sadie Sink’s reported debut in the MCU brings new opportunities to expand the world of Spider-Man (via Deadline), and while a lot of fans are celebrating, another MCU actress is left in doubt whether or not she would make a comeback in the superhero movie empire.
Eternals star Gemma Chan, who played Sersi in Chloé Zhao’s 2021 film, has no idea about the future of the franchise. Given the low critical and commercial reception, the plan for a sequel is not yet guaranteed. Even Kevin Feige once remarked that “there are no immediate plans for Eternals 2” via Inverse, although there are acknowledgments of the events that transpired within the film in other MCU franchises. “Certain giant things came out of the ocean,” the executive stated.

Chan, on the other hand, told ComicBook that she is not losing hope that the franchise will receive another chance as she feels the narrative is not yet over.
You never know. We’re often the last people to find out. I don’t know, I’m keeping the faith. I feel like there’s unfinished business there and there’s more story to tell, but we’ll see.
While we have not seen any members of the Eternals in other recent movie trailers, there is always a possibility that they will return in the highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. After all, it’s where the assemblage of heroes and villains happens, making it a film that avid fans should not miss out on in theaters.
Sadie Sink might be playing a familiar character in the MCU

Chan was lauded by fans for her acting as Sersi in Eternals. Even though her portrayal was a bit different from that of her comics counterpart, many liked her own take on the character. While her future in the MCU remains a mystery, fans can shift their focus to Sink’s upcoming role.
The redhead actress sparks rumors that she is in line to play X-Men’s Jean Grey as per scooper Jeff Sneider, but given that she’s reportedly joining Holland’s film, there is also speculation that she could play Mary Jane.
Destin Daniel Cretton is attached to the project as director, with production set to commence later this year.
