DUNNES Stores shoppers have been racing to the tills for the retailer’s new spring/summer range.
Fashion fans have in particular been loving their new range of jeans, with many racing to pick them up.

Now, one fashion fan has shared what she calls a “realistic jeans try on” to social media.
Instagram user Shannon Conway shared a short video to the platform for her followers.
At the beginning of the video, she can be seen holding up two pairs of jeans.
She explained that she is trying to find a nice pair of jeans, and in this video she would try on two pairs from Dunnes Stores.
First she tries on the High Rise Mom Jeans, which retail for €25.
As she is trying them on, she said: “It’s not looking good.”
She is wearing it with a long yellow jumper, noting that with the long jumper “it’s not too bad”.
They come in two different colour options, a darker denim and a lighter one, and in sizes 8 to 22.
In the official item description on the website, fashion chiefs wrote: “The ‘mom’ jeans of the 90s are back in fashion and this pair boasts a high rise, a tapered leg and plenty of stretch.
“Pair with ankle boots and a shirt for a smart take on the trend.”
Standing back to show off the jeans, she said: “I really do like them, minus the camel toe.”
The next pair of jeans she tried on was the High Rise Full Length Straight Jeans, which also cost €25.
Before trying them on she said they probably wouldn’t suit her – and then admits to viewers: “Yeah, they won’t go over my a**e.”
Holding up the jeans, she adds: “I’m pretty sure these are the ones I always wear, and they’re the same size.”
These jeans come in sizes 8 to 20, and are available both online and in stores.
In the official item description on the Dunnes Stores website, fashion chiefs wrote: “Crafted from a cotton-rich denim, these jeans are cut to a flattering high-rise and a straight-leg fit.
“Featuring a classic five-pocket design, they are a must-have for everyday wear.”
Concluding the video, Shannon said she is “still on the hunt for some jeans.”
Meanwhile, Dunnes fans are set to love a “wonderfully soft” cardigan for spring after it hit racks.
The Savida Sadie Rib Tie Front Cardigan is available in stores and online now.
It is priced at €25 and comes in sizes XXS to XXL.
The retailer said: “Crafted from a wonderfully soft ribbed knit, this front-tie cardigan from Savida is designed with a flattering v-neckline.
“Perfect for layering, it pairs seamlessly over a tank top with denim for a chic ensemble.”
The cardigan can be worn with jeans and skirts depending on the occasion.
THE HISTORY OF DUNNES STORES

DUNNES Stores opened its first store on Patrick Street in Cork in 1944 – and it was an instant hit.
Shoppers from all over the city rushed to the store to snap up quality clothing at pre-war prices in Ireland’s first ‘shopping frenzy’.
During the excitement, a window was forced in and the police had to be called to help control the crowds hoping to bag founder Ben Dunne’s ‘Better Value’ bargains.
Dunnes later opened more stores in the 1950s and began to sell groceries in 1960 – starting with apples and oranges.
The retailer said: “Fruit was expensive at the time and Ben Dunne yet again offered Better Value than anyone else in town.
“Over time, our food selection has grown and that spirit of good value has remained strong.
“Now we offer a wide range of carefully-sourced foods from both local Irish suppliers and overseas.”
The retailer’s first Dublin store opened its doors in 1957 on Henry Street and a super store on South Great Georges Street was unveiled in 1960.
They added: “In 1971, our first Northern Irish store opened, and many others soon followed.
“Expansion continued in the 1980s in Spain, and later into Scotland and England.”
Dunnes now has 142 stores and employs 15,000 people.
