I’m a mum on UC & they’re ordering me to get a job because my youngest turned 2 – I’ll just get pregnant instead

A MUM-OF-TWO has revealed she plans on getting pregnant to avoid having to go to work, as ordered by Universal Credit.

Mother-of-two Charlotte Jones took to TikTok to share her bizarre plan to pop out another baby after Universal Credit told her ”to get a job”.

While there is help available, the young mother said she’ll just get pregnant again instead[/caption]

The young mum explained that she was allegedly ordered to find employment, as her toddler had turned two.

Universal Credit is a payment to help with your living costs.

According to the Gov website, it’s paid monthly – or twice a month for some people in Scotland

Brits may be entitled to it if they’re on a low income, out of work or you cannot work.

In the UK, after your child turns two, if you’re the main carer on Universal Credit, you’ll be expected to look for work and be available to take up a job.

However, this should not exceed 30 hours a week, or take up to 30 hours a week on work-related activities, such as job hunting, attending interviews, or taking courses to improve your skills.

The Gov website states that Universal Credit can help with childcare costs to enable parents to work or increase your hours.

This means claimants can receive a maximum of 85% of their childcare costs being covered, up to a monthly limit of £646 for one child or £1108 for two or more children.

However, while Charlotte (@charlellss) may be entitled for extra support whilst working, the mum revealed she had no interest in finding a job.

Fuming, she said in a recent video: ”Universal Credit told me to get a job because my youngest child is turning two… How about no, lol?

”Limited capability of work forms filled in and sent off.

”[I] might go the extra mile too and get preggers,” she shared her plans in the video.

The furious mum added in the caption: ”DWP [Department for Work and Pensions] ain’t ever gonna make me work.”

Hitting back at critics who insisted that it was people like her who hurt those ”that actually need” help and financial support, Charlotte claimed she was ”skint”.

Am I entitled to Universal Credit?

According to the GOV website, if you’re on a low income or need help with your living costs, then you could be entitled to Universal Credit.

To claim, you must live in the UK, be aged 18 or over (with some exceptions if you’re 15 to 17), be under State Pension age, and have £16,000 or less in money, savings and investments.

Other circumstances are if you are out of work, or unable to work, for example because of a health condition.

‘This is so wrong’

Since being posted on the platform, where the mother-of-two boasts more than 10k followers, the video has seen Charlotte come under fire.

One of the 93k angry viewers said: ”Reported to DWP.”

”This is so wrong,” another slammed the mum.

”If you can manage to conceive a child then you can manage to work,” someone else thought.

”And this, members of the general public, is what is wrong with society,” a fourth chimed in.
