Shoppers have found one wardrobe essential that is perfect for a range of outfits.

The Essential Denim High Rise Black Jeggings cost just €15 and come in sizes 8 to 24.

They are the ultimate piece to wear from day to night – pair them with a blouse and they are perfect for taking you from the office to drinks afterwards.

In the official item description on the Dunnes Stores website, fashion chiefs wrote: “Created with flexible Lycra, this denim design offers the look of jeans combined with the comfort of leggings.

“Featuring a mock fly and pockets at the front as well as two back pockets, the material is stretchy and comfortable to wear.”

One fashion fan has taken to social media to share a look at the find.

Instagram user Lauren Egerton shared a video to the platform for her followers.

She wrote: “Should I keep these or not?

“Are these still on trend? I have never worn them before and i really don’t know if I should keep them or not.”

Lauren said: “I have a fashion question. I bought something; the tag is still on it, so I can actually return it, but I don’t know if this particular item is still in fashion.”.

First, she shows viewers what she is wearing and how she is going to style the piece.

She holds up a gorgeous white cardigan from Penneys, with large brown buttons up the centre.

She then adds a pair of black jeggings, saying: “These are the jeggings from Dunnes. Simple pair of jeggings, quite thin in material, very comfortable”.

She picked up a size 10, noting that it’s a really good fit.

Lauren then holds up a pair of Ugg boots, asking: “Are these still in fashion?

“I love seeing them on other people, I think they look really cool on certain people but I don’t know if they’re still in fashion.”

She picked up the white Ugg boot dupes from TK Maxx for just €16.

Trying them on, she adds that they look “really expensive” and add a cosy vibe to the outfit.

THE HISTORY OF DUNNES STORES

DUNNES Stores opened its first store on Patrick Street in Cork in 1944 – and it was an instant hit.

Shoppers from all over the city rushed to the store to snap up quality clothing at pre-war prices in Ireland’s first ‘shopping frenzy’.

During the excitement, a window was forced in and the police had to be called to help control the crowds hoping to bag founder Ben Dunne’s ‘Better Value’ bargains.

Dunnes later opened more stores in the 1950s and began to sell groceries in 1960 – starting with apples and oranges.

The retailer said: “Fruit was expensive at the time and Ben Dunne yet again offered Better Value than anyone else in town.

“Over time, our food selection has grown and that spirit of good value has remained strong.

“Now we offer a wide range of carefully-sourced foods from both local Irish suppliers and overseas.”

The retailer’s first Dublin store opened its doors in 1957 on Henry Street and a super store on South Great Georges Street was unveiled in 1960.

They added: “In 1971, our first Northern Irish store opened, and many others soon followed.

“Expansion continued in the 1980s in Spain, and later into Scotland and England.”

Dunnes now has 142 stores and employs 15,000 people.
