I tried Lidl beauty dupes hitting stores from €1.59 in DAYS at pop-up salon – and I was so surprised by results

LIDL Ireland opened a pop-up salon to celebrate its new beauty range set to hit shelves this week – and we were among the first to try out the products.

The retailer will bring its DOOP range to stores from March 20, with a variety of haircare, skincare and tanning items on offer.

But shoppers will have to act fast as these dupes are set to fly off the shelves – and will only be available for three months.

And the DOOP pop-up salon, located at Number 5 Andrew Street in Dublin city centre, was a huge hit with beauty fans over the weekend.

After it was launched by Una Healy, tickets sold out in 48 hours.

Treatments cost just €10, with 100 per cent of booking sales going directly to Lidl Ireland’s charity partner, Family Carers Ireland.

Treatments included:

  • Scalp Spa (45 mins): Relaxing head massage, hair mask, sheen and blow dry
  • Natural Beauty Facial (45 mins): One-step mini facial, face massage and drainage, fusion cream and primer application, finished with a bronzing glow and lip oil
  • Flawless Skin Facial (45 mins): Perfect for blemish-prone skin with a double cleanse, blemish reduction treatment, face massage and drainage, finished with a bronzing glow and lip oil

I popped along to the salon to get a relaxing scalp treatment and blow-dry.

Upon entering, I was met with a stunning and luxurious interior, with balloons and champagne on arrival.

After they took my coat, I was brought into the treatment rooms, which mimic an actual spa.

As I was getting my hair done, I was taken to the back of the salon, where I filled in a quick form.

The therapist then washed my hair using Lidl’s Pro Vitamin Shampoo which retails for €1.99.

She then followed it up with the Pro Vitamin Conditioner for €1.59.

While washing my hair, she massaged my scalp while I lay back with a towel over my eyes, a glass of champagne in hand, listening to soothing music – the full VIP treatment.

She then used the HEADSHOCK Peptide Restore Vitalising Hair Mask, which sells for €3.99 – and is a brilliant dupe for the K18 range.

While blow-drying it, she used the HEADSHOCK Peptide Restore Preserving Hair Serum, which retails for €3.99.

When it was all done, my hair looked fabulous with a salon finish, and it even felt healthier.

The range is called DOOP because all the products in it are dupes for more expensive products, sold at a more affordable price.

The DOOP range will hit the shelves of the beauty aisle on March 20, featuring products that are great dupes of brands including K18, Drunk Elephant, Sol de Janeiro, and many more.
