Thanks to a lick of paint, some new cupboard handles and bargain flooring, this woman was able to turn her space from drab to fab[/caption]
After being quoted thousands of pounds for professionals to do the job, this savvy mum decided to do it herself and was able to turn the space from drab to fab thanks to purse-friendly Amazon buys.
Eager to show off her kitchen’s impressive overhaul, the content creator, who posts under the username ‘Scullen’, took to social media to give people a close-up look, leaving many open-mouthed.
She said: “Here’s how I changed our entire kitchen aesthetic for under £100 using paint and handles, with time spent waiting for each coat to dry, taking doors off, and putting them back on again, but it was totally worth it.
“One day we will look to refit this kitchen with a brand new one when we extend.
“But for now, it’s the perfect budget-friendly solution.”
The DIY enthusiast said goodbye to her dated, brown cupboards and hello to a super trendy and chic space.
She used V33 Renovation Cupboard and Worktop Paint in the shade Cotton, to transform her once “hideous” cupboard doors.
It’s great for those on a budget, with a 750ml tub costing just £18.90, while a two litre tub is only £28 on Amazon.
Additionally, the mum-of-two got new cupboard handles from Amazon and used lino flooring over her old tiles, which she purchased from Online Carpets and described as “much cheaper than doing full wooden herringbone.”
She stressed that it took her “many, many” hours of painting to transform the kitchen, as she had 38 cupboards to freshen up.
As well as this, she stressed: “We were quoted to spray it and it was a few grand so I thought nope, I’ll do it myself and four years later I’m only now needing to do touch ups! Mainly where the kids have rammed the cupboards.”
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @scullen, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 159,200 views, 4,726 likes and 220 comments.
