“How could I know if he’s changed”: Jonathan Majors’ Ex-girlfriend Doesn’t Care About His Acting Career, Shares a Harsh Prediction

Jonathan Majors had his entire career derailed when allegations of assault and harassment were brought against him by his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. Following the trial and his conviction on account of reckless assault in the 3rd degree and a charge of harassment as a violation, the actor was dropped from many of his projects and roles, the biggest of it being his role of Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Now that he is trying to get back up, many of his former colleagues and co-stars have been supportive. However, he seems to be receiving no support from one of his ex-girlfriends, who claims that there are no signs of redemption happening.

Before Jonathan Majors was found guilty of the charges brought against him by his ex-girlfriend and was canceled by the film industry, the actor was destined for some of the finest feats on the big screen. Apart from part of the billion-dollar-worth MCU, he had other projects too, but was dropped from them.

Now that the actor is trying to get his career back, Majors sat down with The Hollywood Reporter for an exclusive interview, trying to fight for redemption. For the same piece, THR contacted several of those who personally know him or have worked with him, including actors like Michael B. Jordan and Matthew McConaughey.

While others reiterated that they believed in him, one of his ex-girlfriends, Maura Hooper, who also gave a pretrial statement to prosecutors in the abuse case against him, doesn’t believe Majors will get his career back.

I don’t really care that his movie is coming out. What do you get at the end of a 52-week domestic violence course? Do the victims get a debrief? How could I know if he’s changed? I don’t see redemption happening here.

In addition to the abuse allegations in the Jabbari case, there were rumors and allegations being made that the actor was abusive in his other relationships or that he was hard to work with on sets (see CinemaBlend). However, the 11 producers, directors, and executives that THR reached out to all had positive things to say about him, praising his acting, his work ethic, as well as his behavior on set.

Jonathan Majors was raised by a single mother, while his dad left when he was just eight. While undergoing therapy following his trial, the actor revealed to THR that he started to confront things he had never thought so much about before. He was referring to being s*xually abused as a kid.

I dealt with s*xual abuse from both men and women from the time I was 9. From people who are supposed to look after you, in the absence of a father. I was f**ked up.

Stated the actor as he went on to discuss his mother’s reaction to his revelation.

I’m like, ‘It’s not even an issue, mom. I just want you to know. And now we can all get busy and continue to connect and grow and learn from it, because it’s something that was in our family.’

Having confronted and dealt with the worst of his childhood in his therapy sessions, Majors revealed processing that part of his life has helped him be more self-aware about his behavior, especially in relationships.
