Jordan Peele has been amusing audiences for ages as an actor, comedian, and filmmaker, all in one, and he isn’t done leaving everyone baffled just yet. For one, he is all set to return to the screens with what seems like another masterpiece with his upcoming sports-horror flick Him, after his smash-hit horror-sci-fi flick from 2022, Nope.
Considering all the Academy Awards and Primetime Emmys, among other major accolades, that he has bagged to date for his contribution to the horror and comedy genres, this forthcoming movie from Peele might as well be expected to leave minds blown as well. That said, here’s all we know about the same so far.
Brace yourself for Jordan Peele’s return to the screens with Him

As spectacular as Jordan Peele has proven to be both onscreen and behind the lens with his projects, his horror-flick spree isn’t done just yet. This is because the next movie from the respective genre produced by his Monkeypaw Productions is gearing up to grace its presence on the screens very soon, within a few months.
Directed by Justin Tipping and co-written by Skip Bronkie, Zack Akers, and Tipping himself, Him is an upcoming sports-horror movie. It encircles the story of a promising up-and-coming football player named Cameron Cade (played by Tyriq Withers), who is called to train at the remote compound of a dynasty team’s dying quarterback.
But this journey includes more than just training as the aging legendary quarterback, who is named Isaiah White (played by Marlon Wayans) and is almost retired, takes young Cameron on a spine-chilling expedition into the inner shrine of fame, desire, power, and the pursuit of excellence at all costs — though, at what cost?
The flick also stars other talents, including Julia Fox (as Elsie White, Isaiah’s wife), Tim Heidecker, Jim Jefferies, Naomi Grossman (as Marjorie), GiGi Erneta (as Ayn), Norman Towns, Maurice Greene, Akeem Hayes, and Tierra Whack. Win Rosenfeld, Ian Cooper, and Jamal Watson are also listed among the producers.
This upcoming film will notably be Peele’s next live-action horror movie after his 2022 sci-fi/horror Nope, which fared so well with critics that it stands at a whopping 83% critical score on Rotten Tomatoes. His other notable horror credits include Get Out (2017), BlacKkKlansman (2018), Us (2019), and Candyman (2021).
Netizens’ reaction towards Him’s trailer

The teaser for Him was recently released, and the prospect of seeing a college quarterback get embroiled in the sinister world by the very person he idolizes just to see what he’s willing to sacrifice for fame seems to be interesting enough for fans. This is evident from all the reactions netizens have been sharing about the same.
Here’s a sneak peek into some of their reactions, as they have taken to the comment section of @DiscussingFilm’s tweet on X:

Love a good horror with a psychological edge. The premise of sacrifice for fame sounds chilling, perfect for Peele and Tipping’s styles. Marking my calendar for September 19! 🎬😱

Well, for what it’s worth, all of this is making it sound like Jordan Peele has yet another horror masterpiece lined up for fans. Who knows? It just might end up faring even better than Nope, which made $171 million globally on a $68 million budget for its bold UFO narrative (per The Numbers).
Him will be released in theatres on September 19, 2025 (USA).
