Harry Kane ‘available for cut price transfer away from Bayern Munich but clubs must wait 18 months to complete deal’

HARRY Kane has a cut price release clause in his Bayern Munich contract, according to reports.

But clubs will have to wait at least 18 months to complete a deal after Kane didn’t activate the clause in January.

Kane left his boyhood club Tottenham for £86.4m in 2023, making him the most expensive signing in Bundesliga history.

But it has now been revealed that the deal included a buyout section that could open the door for a return to England.

The 31-year-old could have triggered the clause in the winter transfer window.

This would have allowed him to leave Bayern for around £67m in the summer, according to German outlet Bild.

That deadline has now passed, but the release clause, which aren’t common place in the Bundesliga, will be valid again next winter.

If Kane triggers it next January, he could move to another club for just £54m in under 18 months time in the summer of 2026.

It is understood that Kane – who is contracted to Bayern until June 2027 – is happy in Germany.

He has more than settled in, shattering Erling Haaland’s goalscoring records in the German top-flight.

As of Sunday’s 4-3 win over Holstein Kiel, Kane has scored 55 goals in 50 games – which beats Haaland’s 50 goals in the same amount of matches.

He has bagged 70 goals in 72 appearances in all competitions, and became the fastest player to reach 50 Bundesliga goals in November.

But a return to the Prem could be tempting in 2026, with Alan Shearer’s all-time goalscoring record of 260 goals within reach.

Daniel Levy confirmed Spurs have first refusal to re-sign Kane, who refused to rule out a return to North London.

Kane currently has 213 Prem goals to his name, putting him 47 behind Shearer in second place.
