FOUR teens have been arrested following a number of burglaries from businesses in Cavan and Monaghan.
Gardai received reports on Friday of thefts from various businesses shortly before 8pm.
Gardai attached to the Divisional Armed Support Unit while on routine patrol carried out a search on a vehicle in Cavan town.
Following the search, Gardaí in Cavan Community Engagement and Crime Units arrested four men in their late teens, all who were occupants in the car.
Gardai also recovered a number of items from the car.
It has also been subject of an unauthorised taking earlier in Dublin 22.
Three of the four men arrested have since been released pending referral to the Garda Youth Diversion Programme.
A fourth remains in custody at a Garda Station in the Cavan/Monaghan Division.
Gardai confirmed investigations into the incident are ongoing.
A garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí in Cavan arrested four individuals following a number of incidents of theft from business premises in Co. Cavan and Co. Monaghan yesterday, Friday 14th March 2025.
“Shortly before 8pm, Gardaí attached to the Divisional Armed Support Unit while on routine patrol carried out a search on a vehicle in Cavan town.
“With assistance from Gardaí in Cavan Community Engagement and Crime Units, the occupants of the car, four male juveniles, aged in their late teens, were arrested.
“A number of items were recovered from the vehicle.
“The vehicle had been the subject of an unauthorised taking earlier in Dublin 22.
“Three of the four arrested males have been released pending referral to the Garda Youth Diversion Programme.
“The fourth juvenile male remains in custody at a Garda Station in the Cavan/Monaghan Division.
“Investigations are ongoing.”
