Former WWE Universal Champion Released Due to High Salary Debuts Exciting New Look

There are all sorts of characters in professional wrestling. Some with a punk-based persona, others with a light-hearted babyface character, but the superstars who get the most attention in the community, particularly in the WWE, are dark-gloomy ones with intimidating storylines and unmatched strength inside the ring.

Braun Strowman has long been known as a modern-era powerhouse in the wrestling world. However, he recently surprised fans by revealing a lighter, more playful side of himself through a strikingly refreshing new look on social media. The unexpected transformation has sparked curiosity among fans: Is this just a bit of harmless fun, or could it signal an exciting new chapter in his career?

Braun Strowman had everything that a wrestling brand wants from a professional. Yet, WWE decided to let him go due to a large contract and financial constraints at the company’s end. A free agent since May 2, 2025, Strowman finally became active on social media once again after he posted a rather amusing video of himself on his Instagram account.

In the video, Strowman can be seen with a new haircut while keeping his iconic beard intact. The former Universal Champion posted the video with the music ‘Sexy and I know it’ from LMFAO. Additionally, he can also be seen with a new nose piercing, which enhances his facial attributes even more.

The new haircut and the revamped look are interpreted by the wrestling community in a variety of ways. Apart from the appreciation of the look and the astonishment over the haircut, many in the comments remarked on a strong possibility of Braun Strowman heading to AEW. Fans realised that the new look could be a statement from the Big Man, a signal of a new beginning in the making.

Whatever may be the case, fans will witness him in that new look with former US President George W. Bush. Strowman himself revealed the information about his presence at the Bush Golf Classic for Gary’s House in a previous Instagram post. The occasion can be even more special with Strowman in a new avatar.

Braun Strowman potentially joining AEW after shocking WWE exit

With uncertainty over his future after the WWE exit, the most likely possibility for Braun Strowman is joining the All-Elite Wrestling (AEW). Reports earlier suggested that he can make his AEW debut at AEW All In 2025 and possibly take over as the new leader of the Dark Order faction.

The faction indeed has a special place in the hearts of the Monster among men. Dark Order was previously led by Brodie Lee, also known as Luke Harper by WWE fans, right until his unfortunate death in December 2020. Strowman and Harper had an emphatic time together in the WWE as part of the Wyatt family.

Braun Strowman could be the leader of this faction and forge a new era of antagonist leaders in professional wrestling after his friend Luke Harper and Bray Wyatt’s unfortunate passing. The Fiend would’ve turned 38 today, and while Wyatt Sicks is trying to keep his legacy alive in the WWE, Strowman can do the same in AEW.

Will Braun Strowman finally join the Tony Khan-led brand in his new look? Will we witness the resurgence of his monster persona once again, this time in AEW? Do share your thoughts in the comments down below.
