She allegedly specified that Costner should solely finance their kids’ private school education, health care expenses, and extracurricular activities via People.
Since the Yellowstone actor earned less in 2023 than he did the past year, he reportedly could not pay the said amount. A month later, the designer was told to receive $129,755 per month, as per Fox News, but a judge ruled in Costner’s favor and stated that the final amount he should pay for child support would be $63,209 per month.
The massive drop in financial support from Costner forced Baumgartner and her kids to exercise lifestyle changes. Apart from moving to a smaller house, the children also felt the impact on their educational experience. Three of them used to attend private schools, but after the settlement, two of them now reportedly go to public schools in Santa Barbara. The ex-wife was also spotted using a Range Rover with worn tires and an expired license plate.
After a strenuous divorce battle, the former couple finally ended their 19-year marriage in February 2024. Despite the messy breakup, Costner said that he still has some love left for Baumgartner. As per Newsbreak (via Express), the actor is waiting and keeping a close eye on his ex-wife and her fiancé. “He’s paying Christine a monster sum each month in spousal support but surely she won’t need that when she becomes someone else’s spouse,” the source stated.
Costner is hoping to recover after he got into some financial trouble due to his passion project Horizon: An American Saga flopping at the box office. He shouldered some of the expenses for the film’s production that left a tremendous dent in his bank account.
